choo-choo-charlie
The only problem I have with "Little Black Submarines" is that when it kicks over to electric in that song, the riff sounds exactly like Tom Petty's "Last Dance With Mary Jane" and I have a hard time getting over that in that particular song. The album is growing on me though as a whole. I like it more and more with each listen but there's still no way it matches up to The Decemberists or Wilco for me this year. I meant to comment on this earlier... I definitely see the rsemblance between Auerbach's riff and the Tom Petty song, but it's not EXACTLY the same. There are a few subtle differences, but the similiarity isn't enough to ruin the song for me. It's still my favoriteon this record, after having given it several good listens now. The album is phenomenal, and to my ears, as a whole, perhaps a little more easily digestible than Brothers -- which still has its share of brilliant moments.
junkiesmile
I don't know how many runners there are in this crowd but this is a great album to do four or five miles to.
Moss
I don't know how many runners there are in this crowd but this is a great album to do four or five miles to. It really is.
lost highway
I feel like El Camino is good and Brothers is great. I haven't listened to El Camino enough to make an intelligent comment, but that's what I'm hearing so far.
choo-choo-charlie
They are really hitting a stride with Brothers and El Camino. I can't even imagine what's coming after this.
