i have more chance of catching Kony with my bare hands than some schmuck does making anyone laugh with that weak pic.

he should get over himself.

id love to know what hes ever done.

anytime anything good gets big thats when the donkeys start piling on.

the one thing i thought was so interesting and beautiful about the video in the first place was that it might have been something we could all agree on. for once.

On a side note, this topic makes one wonder how many organizations asking for our money are at all legit or just playing on our emotions. While there are many international issues, organizations, and charities that deserve our attention and support, I'm a firm believer in giving in our own communities first. It's easier that way to know which organizations or causes are legit and to see whether the money is actually put into action to do something good. Local homeless shelters, domestic violence shelters, humane societies, etc. are always in need of donations and know how to work on shoestring budgets and put donations to very good practical use.

A More Accurate KONY 2012 Campaign Poster...

Anr5hHwCEAIq-B2.jpg

Featured here is Cecil Rhodes who helped the British Empire literally conquer a massive swath of Africa from the north all the way to the south, the portion over which Rhodes is spanning in the illustration. In memory of his megalomania, the British would name what is now modern day Zimbabwe after him, calling it "Rhodesia."

Today, US Africa Command, known as AFRICOM, is spreading across Africa in the footsteps of Cecil Rhodes. As reported by allAfrica.com, Vice Admiral Moeller at an AFRICOM meeting held at Fort McNair on February 18, 2008 would declare that protecting "the free flow of natural resources from Africa to the global market" was one of AFRICOM's guiding principles. Of course by "global market," the admiral means the Fortune 500 corporations of Wall Street and London.

In our politically sensitive modern age, pillaging Africa in the footsteps of shameless and quite racist imperialists is very difficult to do. Therefore, Joseph Kony, Al Qaeda, Qaddafi, starving children, pirates, and every other geopolitical ploy and contrivance imaginable, and some left yet unimagined have been used to justify AFRICOM's expanding presence on a continent they have no business setting foot on.

Ironically, ploys like KONY 2012 have liberal youth clamoring for what is perhaps the next dark chapter in large scale racist imperial enslavement, plundering, and exploitation.

For excellent analysis on the KONY 2012 scam, please read Nile Bowie's "Youth Movement Promotes US Military Presence in Central Africa," and BlackStarNews.com's "KONY 2012, Invisible Children's Pro-AFRICOM and Museveni Propaganda."

Child abductee featured in Kony 2012 defends film's maker against criticism

“Invisible Children’s accounts show it is a cash rich operation, which more than tripled its income to $9m (£5.68m) in 2011, mainly from personal donations. Of this, nearly 25% was spent on travel and film-making. Most of the money raised has been spent in the US. The accounts show $1.7m went on US employee salaries, $850,000 in film production costs, $244,000 in “professional services” – thought to be Washington lobbyists – and $1.07m in travel expenses. Nearly $400,000 was spent on offices in San Diego.”

Information about how they intend to spend their windfall 2012 revenue of a bare minimum of $15M has not been released, but as I wrote earlier, at least $3000 would’ve gone to flying me to both San Diego and Africa had I allowed them to do so. (Story behind that at the bottom of this post.) If I were Invisible Children, I’d start talking about where this new money’s going. I’m emailing Jason and Ben a link to this post to see if they’re willing to post a financial plan for the year ahead – is there yet another film in store?

I had a girl in one of my history classes donate money because the film made her cry. She did no background check on the charity nor did she look for other opinions about the situation in Uganda or the film makers. I asked her if I made her cry after showing her some of the items I've posted here would she send me some money? She laughed and said she would. It was a joke of course so don't attack me for soliciting money from my students. It's too bad kids are sending off $15 million dollars to these folks with none of the money actually going to help any of the children victims or the situation.

Joseph Kony resolution introduced in House

By Stephanie Condon

Two House lawmakers on Tuesday introduced a resolution supporting efforts to counter the Lord's Resistance Army, hoping to build on the momentum created by a viral YouTube video spotlighting the atrocities of LRA leader Joseph Kony.

The resolution, introduced by Reps. Jim McGovern, D-Mass. and Ed Royce, R-Calif., calls for, among other things, expanding the number of regional forces in Africa to protect civilians and placing restrictions on individuals or governments found to be supporting Kony.

how was i duped winston? tell me. or better yet let me know how you were so smart you didnt get duped like my dumb ass

I just think that a "charity" that calls for possibly illegal military action and whose financials aren't 100% transparent is fishy.

But if you're cool with that, by all means, send more of our soldiers into a shitshow.

wow - mental breakdown?

No. The video backfired exposing the real motives behind AFRICOM and those seeking to exploit Central Africa for it's resources. The alternative media did it's homework and revealed the film for the propaganda piece it really is. The move to discredit the film has begun by those very same people who have the most lose by these disclosures. The video and it's backers like Russell will purposely be brought down to avoid more public scrutiny of what is happening over there. In another week you will never hear of Kony 2012 again. Keep those donations coming :D .

Some background. Good video clip...
