worldrecordplayer
Chugging along in the REM book. Spinning this vinyl. Album #4, what an incredible run of first 4 albums. Right up there with the best ever. My wife and I were listening from the beginning, its been nice to read the book and go back and listen along and be reminded why we loved this band so much. PopTodd
What is the 33-1/3 book about Murmur? Haven't heard of that. There's a whole series of short books about the makings of classic albums: a book for each album.http://333sound.com/33-13-series/ Always adding new ones, but the Murmur book was (I think) one of the first.http://www.amazon.com/R-E-M-s-Murmur-33-1-3/dp/0826416721/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1391620066&sr=8-1&keywords=33+Murmur Check it. It's a great series. I've probably read about 10 of them and some are better than others. (I liked the Murmur one a lot.) People take very different approaches - some get into the minutiae of the recording process, others write more about what the album meant to them, and at least one (Joe Pernice's book on The Smiths’ Meat Is Murder) is fiction. Looked at the list of books, there's a large number I'll want to read.
PopTodd
THE MCKINLEYS http://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLb08ciwBT2AYdKBH3nXLE-iTZfk7dyVKo&feature=mh_lolz Obscure 60's sister group. "Sweet and Tender Romance" has a killer Jimmy Page guitar solo.
