NoJ
Lately, I've been listening a lot to "Layla and other assorted love songs" by Derek and the Dominos and have come to realize that Bobby Whitlock and his musical stylings kick some serious keister. He wrote a good many tunes on the album, the organ/piano parts are great and his vocals play an integral part of the feel of the album. Oh yeah, Jim Gordon's drums are fantastic too. worldrecordplayer
In the running for one of my favorite albums of all time. A few years ago Whitlock was posting a bunch of long writings about his career and experiences with Clapton and the Dominoes. Fascinating reads. I think he put out a book a few years ago, I never got it but was wondering if it included what he was posting. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
Oil Can Boyd
My two favorite songs on that record are "Why Does Love Got to Be So Sad?" and "Keep on Growing" both of which Whitlock co-wrote.
Chez
Don't sleep on "Anyday," also co-written by Whitlock. What a great album.
