I knew of Guy Clark, but didn't really look too close until Lyle Lovett released Step Inside This House.

I'm so glad to see you posted this, Donna.

Guy Clark and his music have influenced me greatly. I was lucky enough to see him a few times and even got the opportunity to eat some Texas Cookin' and share the same picnic table as him and Verlon Thompson in Mineola Texas. He didn't just write songs, he built them. Today the weather has been wet, cold and grey. Couldn't be more appropriate.

There's a great cd of Guy, Townes, and Steve Earle on stage together in early 2000s sharing songs and stories together from The Bluebird in Nashville that is top-notch. One of my favorite discs,

I'm very sad to read this. I've listened a lot to Guy Clark over the years, covered a number of his songs, and was hoping I'd get to see him live one day. Not to be. What a songwriter.

This is very sad.  Guy was a great songwriter and a great supporter of songwriters.  He will definitely be missed.

 

Got to see him a few years back and have lots and lots of his records.
