ungriego
Hi Wilco band and fans, First time ever I write to a band or a fan club, but I think this time it’s worth it, because I’ve got a story to tell & share with you all. It’s about me & my wife trying to have a baby. We already had one (a boy), but after some attempts to have another, nothing came out of it and we realized something was going wrong. After some health checks, she had a problem that came from an infection she’d had about 3 years ago, and possibilities were null. So we went for an “in vitro”. But first there was some surgery that she had to go through, and after that, some recovery time. The whole thing, since our first attempts, went on and on for about two years and a half. It was really hard and we were at that point really disenchanted and hopeless. Our relation was going down, even more when we made the first two attempts of in vitro with no success. Every news was bad and discouraging. Discussions came along, doubts aroused, trust began to break up... But there was one thing that kept us together: every now & then, at night, we listened and danced to one of Wilco songs, “You & I”, and everything seemed to fall into place and our common aim made sense again. In November we had our last chance with the in vitro technique. It was all or nothing. The only embryo left had been frozen for some months and we felt that chances were really close to nothing….but somehow…it worked. And now she’s pregnant and we’re waiting for a baby girl in august. I’ve heard with joy that you guys are coming in July to play to VIDA festival near Barcelone, in Spain, where we live. Bet I’ll be there seeing you. It’ll be my fourth time seeing Wilco live. Not with my wife, because I think in July she won’t be able to go, but I’ll come along with two friends of mine, and hopefully you’ll play that particular, beautiful song, that made so much for us and that we really love. See you soon! A whole lotta love! David dvdctf@gmail.com
bböp
Thanks for sharing that, and mazel tov! That must be so nervewracking knowing that you only have one more chance at the procedure working. I'm sure Wilco will put on a good show for you guys in Vida, so enjoy it!

Tweedling
That is such an intimate and encouraging story. Congratulations! In my mind I imagined you and your wife dancing slowly and close to one another with the song playing in the background. Funny to think about considering I've be ever met either of you. Nonetheless, thank you and here's to a healthy beautiful girl on the way.
TCP
Great story, you should definitely post that on the request a song link.My wife and I chose You and I as our first dance on our wedding night, it's maybe not my favourite Wilco song but it'll always hold a special place to us because of that.
