bböp
Surprised that no one has posted a link to this story yet. Pretty amazing that they are still discovering stuff like this... The 20th anniversary of Mermaid Avenue also snuck up on me. Anyway, onward!
calvino
Woody just needed to add cow bell and he would have had hit. Pretty cool to be able to hear that - shout out to all the tapers and tape collectors out there, so we can continue to hear stuff like this. Wilco seems to have gotten the 'drunk vibe' feeling in their version, too.

Mr. Heartbreak
Pretty interesting how, having only lyrics to work with, Jeff ended up writing a more compelling melody than the one Woody originally had. Now, if someone could just come up with better melodies for some of Dylan's musically uninteresting lyrical masterpieces, we'd really have something!
i'm only sleeping
Thanks for the heads up! Too bad the link does not mention At My Window Sad & Lonely...
Yaz Rock
That's amazing, thanks, Paul! I always wondered what the original Guthrie takes sounded like and if Wilco was close or far-off in their interpretations/guesstimations. Nice to see one of them surface.
