Oil Can Boyd
Are there any fans of the podcast 60 Songs that Explain the 90s: the 2000s? It took me a bit but it's become one of my favorite music podcasts. Rob Harvilla, the host, gives long, seemingly rambling introductions before even getting to the song that's the subject of the episode. At his best, the rambling all comes together as he introduces the song and then as he continues, you start to understand the long intro. There's a recent episode about Heavy Metal Drummer that I enjoyed.
nalafej
Oh dang, I just finished the actual 90's episodes and figured I'd take a break (permanent even), but I'll have to check this one out! Thanks for the heads up.

Been listening to selected episodes for a few years and recent highlights include Maps - Yeah Yeah Yeahs, No One Knows - QOTSA (both from the 2000s iteration, of course). Gold Soundz - Pavement was the very first one I heard and was fully entertained right away.......aaaaaand now that Heavy Metal Drummer is our latest candidate, I'm looking forward to hearing his looping monologue about this one. Sure to include many Dad anecdotes.
lost highway
I honestly didn't think I needed this one but had a gap in my podcast stream and gave it a listen. So good. Laugh out loud material. Muppets, Tweedy, pop artistry versus commercialism. It's excellent.
nalafej
Yeah! Pretty good episode for a guy who doesn't really seem to like most of the catalog or even YHF. Hope Rob didn't go to the Cleveland show this summer tour for his own sake (not a nothing to be seen)...
