  1. "One Sunday Morning", I don't know what words to use to describe how incredibly soulful this song is, and how this song just washes over me like a warm bath. Maybe those are the words. Thank you Wilco for rockin my world again.

    agree

  2.

Agree about the headphones. I am so much more into it now that I'm listening with them and I agree about One Sunday Morning too. That is one beautiful and heartbreaking song. I love the way Tweedy's voice sounds on this song. I can't put my finger on what it is but there is a quality to it that is just so touching.

    agree about Jeffs voice,

  3. i listened 3 times on my laptop with shitty speakers, then i had to go shopping so i listened on my iphone with my bose ear buds and wow...love all the little layers and sounds, its a beautiful sounding record....my favorite is 'sunday morning' and i love how it just keeps going and going :yes

  4. This is actually feeling stronger after a second listen. The highs aren't really overshadowing the middles and the lows are staggered around enough that they don't seem to drag the listening experience down. The only BAD songs here are "Open Mind" and "Standing O," which aren't awful so much as they are unfathomably plodding, predictable and dull. "Open Mind" especially feels like something Tweedy wrote on the can one day ("Okay, so I'll come up with some lyrics that literally anybody could have written and I'll play my favourite chords in the usual sequence...") and tossed onto the album because it sounds pleasant enough to jumble up the flow a bit.

    i love open mind :stunned

  5.

Aren't we (fans) masses enough? I sort of hate the idea of a Wilco juggernaut after all these years... I don't want "the masses" to come to Solid Sound! Small is beautiful.

  6. Feel free to contact me if you decide to come. I have lots of friends in the area who interested so I may be able to grab an late extra.

Oh I definitely will. Thank you! I'm really hoping I can go.

  7. For all Central Park hopefuls, I really don't see there being a huge problem getting tix going forward. I never get tix in advance in manhattan. Last year walking around the park I grabbed face value or below tix for pavement, black keys & flaming lips. I didn't even bother with the pre-sale. But Wang in Boston, however, nabbed orchestra dancing_geek.gif

This is good to know because I'm not sure if I can make NYC and may be able to go at last minute. So now I'm hopeful. Thanks!

  9. 1. I first heard Wilco's music when my DylanChatGold friend hazel (aka Via Chicago's hazel) sent me a Jeff cassette. The show was 2-28-99. I wore out the tape in about 6 months and sheepishly asked her to copy it again which thankfully she did. That was quickly followed by the arrival of a Pizza Pocket box full of cds of both solo Jeff and Wilco.

    2. My first Wilco show was April 2002 in Montreal.

I've now seen 21 shows, including 3 solo Jeffs and 2 Solid Sounds. Adding 3 more in September.

So, if not for hazel, I might still be in the dark.

hey, i need to catch up! you got me beat on the shows :o :P
