  1. Has anyone else been bitten by theses fuckers? They say they're some kind of "oak mite".

I got bit a few times a week or so ago. They seem to stay much longer than mosquito bites. Worst thing is the mites are too small to even see so you have no way of knowing if you're getting bit.

  2. ouch. trees that big get uprooted often because their roots don't stabilize the tree enough. The sidewalk, the bricks and the road all keep the roots from being able to spread out to the drip line. So the tree ends up being so top heavy that a big wind just blows it over. often onto cars. hopefully not on people.

the other thing is that the ground was already super saturated, even before this string of storms hit.

I was in the middle of a 16" softball game near UIC when the first wave came through. People were getting blown of their feet. And man, that thing moved in fast. There were a couple raindrops, and then a WHOOSH just blew threw.

  3. I agree that meth is the worst drug out there - But to have to sign for one box is a bit extreme.

I dont see the issue or feel its extreme. The active ingredient is a MAIN component of meth, and also the most easily obtainable (not to mention legal) form. People would walk into a Walgreens and buy out the entire store...I can assure you they didnt have colds that bad. I've signed for boxes before..it takes at most 2 minutes.

  4. Too true.

It's never fully recovered, in my eyes. Not to say it won't ... it just hasn't, yet.

Not to mention handing the NBA over to ABC was a HUGE mistake. They just do not know how to broadcast basketball games. And of course Stern is so boneheaded he gave them an extended contract. The NBA on NBC will always be the golden days.

    R.I.P.

  5. Daft Punk blew a hole right through the back of my head. Quite simply put, bouncing around with all of those 10s of thousands of people in the middle of Grant Park on a perfect evening to the robot rock is a memory that I really hope doesn't leave me soon. Highlight x 10.

I was going to go after work just to catch them and LCD, but I wasnt about to pay $80 and unfortunately I couldnt find a cheap ticket. but yea, DP's stage show really is from another world. i did see the video on youtube of the finale with "one more time", and then their laser suits lighting up "tron" style. awesome.

  6. First off Booze should be damn near the top of that list. This thread is as rude as it gets.I'm sure their are some of us on VC that are going through and dealing with addictions. As adults,we need to set examples for the youngsters on here.Braging about drug use isin't that cool peoples.I will be not returning to VC until this thread is closed.

i totally agree that alcohol is definitely powerful and addictive if abused.

on the other hand, just as there are people who can drink responsibly, there are also people who can use drugs responsibly and not have it ruin their lives. all drugs are not created equal, just as all people are not created equal. some people should never have a beer in their life. others should never try a hard drug. however, "just say no" is far more irresponsible than telling someone to know themselves and their limits, and to act accordingly.

  7. most i've done is shrooms, which was once. it was a mixed experience. it would have been better if it was a more favorable setting and i can definitely see how it could be a positive life changing drug if done in the proper context. i had wanted it to be a deep, insightful experience during the day in the comfort of my house. we wound up doing it at a friends house at night with a lot of random people walking in and out, which made me slightly paranoid and detached. also, the naseua i got early on never went away, which didnt really help. even though i didnt take a huge dose, i could definitely feel the power of the drug. on the other hand, i had some awesome visuals (the best was i had a bottle of fiji water on the table and the light refracted through it creating all sorts of prisms and rainbows across the room. the colors of the room constanly changed and the walls melted. but i never saw a true "hallucination" i.e. something that wasnt there). with that said, salvia is what scares the begeezus out of me. from the stories i've heard, i cant believe that stuff is legal. im pretty sure i will never touch it, even if someone payed me. the thing about shrooms is, i never felt completely out of control or lost touch with reality. salvia seems to be the equivalent of 10 acid hits compacted into a 10 minute period. no thanks.

  8. I'm disappointed in this album. I don't think Adrock was up to the challenge. The songs seem very one dimensional in terms of dynamic range and tempo. It doesn't sound like they're having fun. I had high hopes since their instrumental material from Check Your Head and Ill Communication impressed me.

I think I agree with you. I liked it at first, but as time as gone on its had no staying power.
