The Lonely 1 Pot Kettle Black Ashes of American flags I just changed that like 5 or 6 times....

Hi there Trent, sorry this is late. Okay, so it's a little messy and not as visually obvious as I thought it might be for you but it's kinda' how Jeff plays it (apart from the 5-4-2-0 slide, Jeff fingers it slightly different). I'm not making excuses but it was tricky playing it a bit slower than usual and I didn't have a pick handy either so it's rough around the edges. If it's still a mystery I could maybe film my other hand for you sometime (with pick) and do a picture-in-picture? http://vimeo.com/4727230 I've capo'd it at the third fret, but you can do it at two (as per the record)

Ha ha... fair enough. Sorry to be bitchy, bad day etc. are we friends again?

Hey there, I'll try and film myself this weekend playing this for you focusing on my fretting hand, hopefully this will clear a few things up. Alex

I've not had a look at this yet but if it is wrong, would it not be just a little more pro-active to offer an alternative? Looking through some of your previous posts, it's pretty clear that you don't excel at pleasantries... And you think Hotel Arizona sucks....

Just downloaded the DC show and have to say that the mix is awful. AWFUL, AWFUL, AWFUL. I'd just get your hands on a decent audience recording as Jeff's vox is waaaaay to low in the mix. Thanks, but boo! Alex EDIT: The Ashes tracks are mind-blowing quality, the mix is near perfect. DC show - NIGHT Ashes tracks - DAY

No sorry dude, it's a factual radio documentary on 'Numbers Stations'. The Wilco link is that the band sampled an excerpt from one of the transmissions at the end of Poor Places and a bit of fuzz and bleeps at the end of Pot Kettle Black. Just being geeky and not for the first time. More here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Numbers_station Alex

Hi everyone, (thanks for clicking) I'm trying desperately to identify a song from the film 'Great World Of Sound'. I'm led to believe that it's not on the credits at the end, but I just know that somebody here will know right away... It's quite low in the mix and the lyrics I can make out proved fruitless on a quick google... http://www.quosh.com/excerpt.aif I can't offer anybody anything in return for their time, but you'll make me the happiest boy on the lower east side (well Manchester actually). VC, I need you. Alex

I doubt it... I 'll bet he has had a quick look, but I spoke to Westerberg once and he said he (himself) didn't even have a computer, it was a while ago and I thought, oh well. I think it's easy to flatter ourselves... I actually remember Mike Scott (I think) from the Waterboys posting a correction for a guitar tab on a forum once, he posted under the name 'wingfeet' or something similar. I remember people telling him he'd got the bridge wrong! Some people. Anyway, it sure would be nice to get some corrections, but if they're too busy to come to the UK (there's unfinished business ) , I

That's a much neater idea than having to search through 36 results for 'Pot Kettle Black' in the search facility, then scrolling down, discounting the irrelevant mentions as you go. I'm all for it and I'll keep my weary fingers crossed... Thanks and welcome to VC Blake, there are lots of great guitarists here who generally seem happy to help out! Alex

Thanks for the link... got me thinking though that SBS was in no way the best album of the year for me. It's been a good year nonetheless! Alex
