  1. Are you seriously calling someone out for sarcasm? Glass houses, man.

There are different forms of sarcasm, and certainly different intents behind them. If you would like to discuss it further off-line, I am one click away.

  2. And there it is.

Of course you have seen this graphic right?

    http://www.cnn.com/2015/10/02/us/oregon-shooting-terrorism-gun-violence/

We are willing to spend a trillion plus dollars on "the war on terror" which about 3,000 Americans have died from. But spend very little to try to prevent gun violence which 400K have died.

Or how about spending millions of dollars on a political witch hunt to bring down Hillary Clinton (aka Benghazi) in which 4 people died.

Or how about all of the time and tax dollars (75 million according to some) wasted on repealing a law that actually helps people and saves lives (aka Obamacare). Now all of sudden you are throwing down it would cost too much money BS.

Hey I am glad to see that you have your priorities straight.

Have you made a single response to Hixter that doesn't contain petulant sarcasm? Do you never get tired of sounding that way in your own head?

  3. a general pondering.

I was thinking about how many Wilco songs I'd need to play for someone in order to give him/her an idea of who the band is, musically. Then I thought about the Dead in the same context.

then I realized that with, for instance, AC/DC, I could probably accomplish that task with one song.  That's not to diminish AC/DC--they do one thing and they do it really well.

Consider a band/solo artist and how many songs you think it would take to convey its/his/her sound to someone.

  4. Top/Middle Row: Devi Ever Torn's Peaker, mid-fi pitch pirate, EHX Holy Grail Nano, Peterson Stomp Classic, DBA Total Sonic Annihilation

Bottom Row: Freakshow #9 Boost, Demo Tape Fuzz, Freakshow Brown Rabbit, ?, Lovetone Big Cheese, Moog MF-104M Analog Delay

(acoustic mini board has JHS-modded EHX Holy Grail and expression pedal and another Peterson tuner)

  5. the new (to me) twists to Kingpin were enjoyable. I used to love that song but had kind of relegated it to pee-break status over the past few years because of the dragging call and response thing. Nels and Glenn matching up for these new bits is much better, in my opinion.

The extended Airline to Heaven was great as well, although I'll be happy to hear a recording of it because I wasn't able to catch much of Tyler's guitar from my side-stage vantage.

As an unabashed guitar junkie and Tweedy fan, it was a real treat to be able to finally view most of his pedal and other equipment changes between and during songs. It will take me awhile to sort through my mental notes on that account.

    Great show.
