  1. Pictures from Morgan's party and the show. (new camera - still learning it - some blurry pics)

Thank you Morgan, Erin, and Wendy and Edie.

I had as much fun this weekend as I've ever had. You all are so great! Thank you.

I thought Jeff was much more comfortable with us than last year. It was as if he was one of us. The humor, back and forth, was like in-family.

The setlist was amazing, with first-time solo versions of Radio Cure, Hummingbird, All The Same To Me and One True Vine. Goddamn!

Mountain Bed and Family Gardener were stirring. I'm Always In Love with Neil and Someone Else's Song with Matt were pure pleasure. Thanks guys.

The best part though, as always, was meeting new friends and again spending time with old friends, and feeling lots of love. We are so fortunate that this person has brought us to this place.

  2. As the White Sox are one of my sworn enemies, I am not in the habit of complimenting them; but, I think the additions of Swisher and Cabrera alone make them a much more dangerous team. I think they'll be the surprise of the Central if they can get a little pitching from the bottom of the rotation.

  3. I have been wanting to get into jazz for awhile, having heard bits here and there that I really liked, but I never knew where to start.

I have an album "Billie Holiday:16 Most Requested Songs" and I absolutely adore it (Miss Brown To You and These Foolish Things are amazing songs), Coltrane's "Sun Ship" and Miles Davis' "Kind Of Blue", and I heard a song by Lena Horne on the radio a while ago that I really liked on a jazz program but I forget the title.

I guess what I am after is some recommendations on the earlier vocal jazz, especially female singers. Any tips would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance.

One of my favorite albums by, I believe, the greatest of the female vocalists. Accompanied by Clifford Brown, a trumpeter who, before his untimely death, was considered by most to be approaching Miles Davis status.

  4. I kinda doubt it. I have been wrong before though.

Tonight I was playing it in the store and this older dude who comes in and buys weird DVDs asked "where's the reefer, man?" which in my book is a good sign.

    Hey Sam.

Good. I'll be getting into town around that time and want to get a good spot.

Endorsement from an older dude who buys weird DVDs and says reefer . . . hmmmm. That is a good sign!

A scout for the Boston Red Sox accused of committing a lewd act in a hotel room that overlooked the pool where at least two teenage girls saw him was arrested Monday, police said Tuesday.

Jesse Levis, 39, faces two felony counts of committing lewd and lascivious acts in the precense of children less than 16.

Police and a U.S. Marshals task force arrested him at a Melbourne hotel after he was kicked out of the Springhill Suites in St. Lucie West where the incidents happened.

Levis, of Pennsylvania, is accused of committing the act on Sunday before hotel management was notified. Police identified Levis as a scout for the Boston Red Sox.

He should have probably kept his Levis on.

  6. :lol Nudie with sneakers.... it's tough to put shoes with the Nudie, I bet.

Yeah, they were a little stiff, but you can't blame them. Imagine the crowd--while I'm sure there were some serious Wilco fans present, it's not like having a room full of your fans pushed up against the rail, cheering you on. I bet the atmosphere was bizarre, to say the least.

Right! The sneakers go with the nudie better than those round brown leather shoes he usually wears.

It had to be a surreal experience for them. The promo pictures they showed before the ads were cool.
