  1. is there any way to make believe this season never happened..and make it stick?

holy crap was this a season to forget for chiefs fans. i need to take a few years off to get myself together. maybe herm will be gone by then.

  2. so you're saying she's a typical politician then?

yeah...she fits right in with the rest of 'em.

i'm shocked that the remaining dead would've agreed to do this and then there's the issue of trey being a part of it. the dead just have no shame i guess. i sure miss jerry.

  3. Other bands that did this: Aerosmith, Black Sabbath, Dio - mainly I am talking about keyboard players. It was thought that having a visible keyboard player would somehow tarnish the heavy image of said bands.

especially when they looked like this.

rick played on the sabbath, bloody sabbath and sabotage lp's

  4. so lonely imo will always remain the best song they've ever recorded and the best song they've ever done live. i still crank that one up every few months or so.

i'm a little mixed on them getting back to perform however. how many bands would've called it quits when they did? they had integrity and chose to leave at the top rather than continue to exist while on the downhill slide. i respected that. if these are just reunion gigs, then i guess that's ok, but i would hate to see new material released just because they got back together in the same room. it would only hurt their legacy. i'm thankful the beatles didn't do that...btw free as a bird, etc. didn't count as "new" beatles material imo.

  5. Has anyone in this thread given Ozzie a pass for his comments? I haven't seen it. Sure, there have been jokes made, but they haven't been attempts to downplay the offensiveness of what he said. You're really reading a lot into all this ... almost seems like you're trying to fan flames that aren't even there.

For what it's worth, I expect Ozzie to be heavily fined at a minimum, and suspended for a week or so at a maximum (probably both), and that's perfectly OK with me. MLB has to do something that will get his attention.

    go sox!

  6. who? wha? how am I being a hypocrite??

    hi reni!

no, i'm just commenting on the overall tone of this thread. ozzie is being laughed off, but if it were any other figure outside of chicago making these statements and following up with an even bigger foot-in-mouth moment while apologizing, holy hell would be unleashed and his head would be called for on a platter.

this is just an outsiders view. not singling you out reni.

  7. You beat me to it. :P It would be a brilliant PR move to have someone else act as a lightning rod for all the attention...

yeah, because ozzie can't be distracted, he's winning ballgames you know. as long as he's winning, he'll just be that crazy venezuelan dude. that ozzie's a craaaazzzyyyy guy. he's...craaaazzzyyyy.....

    go sox!

  8. Did any of us Sox fans say it was OK with us?

so what's a proper punishment then? i mean, we don't want to ruin their season or anything. fine him? make him apologize on oprah? what? that's it, he should call up all his gay friends and invite them onto oprah and apologize, how about that?

do the sox need any help in the bullpen?, because i don't think john rocker is busy right now. he'd fit right in.

  9. Guillen also told Couch that he has gay friends, attends WNBA games , went to a Madonna concert and plans to go to the Gay Games in Chicago.

so since he's your manager that's ok with you sox fans? wow. oz needs to shut the hell up. that's just effin' embarrassing.

  10. Didn't he say a while back that he was not going to tour anymore? Weird.

i guess he's got nothing better to do with his time. maybe the cream reunion made him reconsider? who knows. i am a bit sick of musicians crying "last tour ever" just to pad attendence at their latest tour supporting a crap album. "from the cradle" was his last great statement imo. that was over 10 years ago.

  11. just out of curiosity, what does your inclusion on this list get you anyway?

seriously, does it really matter if you are included or overlooked? i think paste does better than most, but there's always going to be some points of contention no matter who's compiling it.

i always take these with a grain of salt and we always have rolling stone's lists for comic relief. don't take these too seriously.

  12. I rather liked the JuJu Hounds.

i threw that cd on the other day. great stuff. it seems his career never had any momentum after that though. not sure why.

Who the hell is Bumblefoot? Did he replace Buckethead? Are we supposed to be taking this band even remotely seriously? Or is this all just some sort of absurdist, dadaist perfomance-art thing? I'm confused. :ermm

i checked amg for "bumblefoot" and he's got more production credits than anything really. he's contributed mostly to tribute cd's including a gnr one. so...as a musician, he's damn lucky to have been given this gig, because his resume ain't shit. must be really good at kissing axl's ass.

  13. what is this? 1996 or something? wtf?

i sense a collective yawn about this unless it involves a full-on reunion. nobody cares about the "axl and his ego" tour. seriously. i'd rather catch izzy by himself than with this frankenband. and i'm still disapointed that tommy's doing this. he belongs in a replacements reunion, not here.
