  1. I would be surprised if this question gets answered.

    Would you? haha sheez

I find it interesting that not long ago you made mention of the rise of internet and how it's helped us seek out and focus on things we agree with.

Then you give a link that supports the belief that the mainstream media is not liberal. A view which you obviously believe is true but also one in which I can search on the internet and provide a link supporting the other opinion.

I don't get the "hate coming form the left too" thing. Who are these talk show people on the left dominating the media with their hate?  Rachel Madow? Oprah? I don't see it.

I never said the left was "dominating the media with their hate". I said it's found on both sides.

Bill Maher and Chris Matthews can both be ass holes and mean sometimes. There are some radio personalities, some political strategists, some pundits, some politicians on both sides that can be hateful. I've searched it on the internet. ;)

Now I like to visit this little thread and leave some opinions, thoughts and questions. Sometimes I give a shit enough to respond to something someone has said or answer a question but for the most part I try to take it lightly. I don't feel the need to take other peoples posts I disagree with and break them down, outline and search for links to support my different point of view. Facts are facts but there are moments when we can all go down the search engine route and find something that supports our belief.

In the future, don't be surprised if I don't get around to answering a question. There's a good chance I didn't read your post.

  2. The right may have a dominance in radio but the left is pretty strong on television and the Internet. There is hate on both sides. That was my original point.

As far as Rush goes, if I stopped watching or listening to everyone who may say something I disagree with or has an opinion that may *gasp* offend someone I'd have to turn off every bit of news or media or reporting or entertainment. I also know that there's an element of entertainment to just about all of these pundits. I enjoy trying to see things from other points of view or at the very least see why other people view things the way they do.

Some of the things listed on the racist link were stretching to be called racist and others were in very poor taste. I'm slow to accuse people of racism or sexism but I know for many it's the "go to". At some point we'll end up pointing the finger and accusing people of these things so much that it just won't be effective when it really needs to be.

  3. I don't need anyone to do anything for me to be satisfied.

I never said they need to apologize.

My point was what I thought it would be helpful if the media covered Muslims denouncing this action more. (And you recognized that)

When a "radical extremist Christian" shoots an abortion clinic or a movie theater I absolutely believe Christians should denounce those acts and the media, I think, should show that more as well.

  4. I saw headlines....after I searched as you did. Unfortunately it's not being put in the front as I think it should. I'd like to see people marching in peace and solidarity for unity on the television and websites instead of people marching with masks on their face and black Isis flags. (Like we tend to see now) If we're saying this person was brainwashed or mislead by the Internet and websites and teachers who pervert this religion then I think we need to combat it with peaceful loving Muslims taking a stand....and it being broadcasted.

Say what you will, that this guy acted alone or he did not do this in the name of religion or it was a radicalized single action....however you'd like to present it but in the end this guy did this killing claiming ISIS. The fort hood shooter yelled out Allah Akbar, the Boston bombings, San Bernardino.....they were subscribing to Islam...sharia? A perverted distorted version of Islam? Yes. But in its name and i think to flood our media with other true Muslims denouncing this would help things. (My opinion)

Regardless of how we feel these people committing these horrific acts they add themselves to the 1.6 billion peaceful Muslims and that's why I think they should actively come out and denounce this type of deadly action across the globe.

I never said it should be a requirement. I think it would help

  5. I wish the media would spend more time on the Muslim people in AND outside the US denouncing this and other such violence. I think it could help build some sense of unity. I think the American people need to see scores of these people denouncing this violence. I think maybe other Muslims need to see it? If it's out there....and if it's not, it should be.

  6. It sure is easy to call someone racist. It's even easier to call a republican a racist. It seems fun for some on the left. I can't understand why when left politicians say racist things it gets swept under the rug as a joke or a misunderstanding.

Clinton saying "super predator" or the "cp time".

Or Obama and his typical white person remark

Or our beloved Vice President and his 7-eleven, Dunkin donuts comment.

Or his comment about Obama being the first mainstream African-American who's good looking, articulate, bright and CLEAN.

  7. Obama is going to be living 1,096feet away from a mosque, further proof that Obama is a secret Muslim bent on destroying the US. Yep stuff like that is pretty comparable to people criticizing trumps actual words. By the way, when did Obama switch from black liberation Christianity to Islam?

The right believes what they believe and the left believe what they believe. Aside from that, I was pointing out the similar ways that both sides have reacted to candidates in the past and in the present.
  8. Are these "protestors" that were sucker punching and throwing things at Trump supporters going to vote in November? Despite the violence that happened inside the Trump rallies earlier in the campaigns, the footage from yesterday shows extreme escalation. I can't help but think the vulgar chants, signs and sucker punching only encourages more support for Trump.

I hope this is not what we have to look forward to inside and outside the DNC in Philadelphia this July.

  9. I'm so glad to see you posted this, Donna.

Guy Clark and his music have influenced me greatly. I was lucky enough to see him a few times and even got the opportunity to eat some Texas Cookin' and share the same picnic table as him and Verlon Thompson in Mineola Texas. He didn't just write songs, he built them. Today the weather has been wet, cold and grey. Couldn't be more appropriate.

  10. To me that makes no sense whatsoever. What makes you think Dem voters would they will vote for Kasich? The prevailing thought is that either Sanders or Clinton would easily trounce Trump (and probably destroy the GOP as well). If you are going to switch over why not vote Trump, give him the victory and nomination. Thus continue to expose the out and out racist, xenophobic, misogynistic characteristics of Trump and the base who now support him?

Also even though the polls don't show a close race (54 to 43, Clinton Sanders), and it is a winner take all state, I think it would be important to have a good showing in this state. Being it is a rust belt / middle America type state. And this state will be extremely important (if not the most important state) in the general. Giving Kasich a win now, could lead him to a path of nominee (unlikely sure, but gives him more of a chance then if he lost).

Furthermore, still a loss, 52 to 48 looks a lot better than a 56 to 44 for Sanders and a win and for Clinton a 54 point win looks better then a 51.

My prediction of Kasich having a big night did not necessarily mean that those Dem crossover votes went to him. (Although I wouldn't be surprised, since he is the governor)

And how did I know it would make no sense to you whatsoever?

  11. Everyone of the candidates running for president lies. They tell us what they believe their voters want to hear. Whether it's true or not.

Personally, I believe calling someone a racist is one helluva accusation and I wouldn't do it unless it were true. i think it gets thrown around too much.
