Is Lets Hear It For Rock and Roll an early version of Let's Not Get Carried Away? They were introduced over 10 years apart (one was on the A.M. Demos and the other was a bonus song on SBS). They seem pretty similar to me.

The other part of the equation is the amount of headroom your amp has. If you have a loud, clean amp like a Twin, there shouldn't be any problem with using a boost. However if your amp is on the verge of breaking up during the rhythm parts and you kick on a boost for leads, you may be adding more distortion than volume (much like the example above where the boost is placed before the distortion pedal)

First heard them in SF when KFOG played Monday. Bought Being There and AM shortly afterwards, then saw this show for my first time:

9. I Got You (At The End Of The Century)
10. Someone Else's Song

21. Dueling Banjos
22. I Wanna Be Sedated
23. Color Me Impressed
24. Box Full Of Letters
25. The Long Cut
26. Immigrant Song
I saw another from the Being There tour, one with two Passenger Sides but I forget that date. I wasn't really sure what to make of Summerteeth when it first came out - thought it was way overproduced, and aside from Jeff & Jay at the Mountain Aire Festval, I didn't see them again until I moved to Chicago and say them for free in Grant Park.

Is it just me or is anyone else bothered by the fact that Kate didn't come right out and tell Jack that she can't escape, even with an hour head start, because they are on another island?
not really - I think he pause was just dramatic cliffhanger effect. when they restart this, the first lines of non-flashback dialogue will be Kate saying something to that effect
-
Take a look a the Digitech JamMan and Boss RC-30 - not sure what they go for used.
An old Digitech PDS8000 is pretty cool too, and you can pitch shift your loops on that one. Not sure if it has a minute of looping time though
-
why exactly do they need charity?
you ever see the Cubs play?

In the OR, Jack intentnionally cuts Ben such that if he doesn't repair it in an hour, Ben dies. He then demands a walkie talkie and radios over to where Danny is about to execute Sawyer. Jack tells them to give a walkie talkie to Kate, and Jack then tells her she has an hour to get away, and to radio back when she's safe. However, Kate and Sawyer both know they're all on a separate island, and that getting away is impossible without a boat, a fact that Jack hasn't learned yet.
That's pretty much where it ends: Jack is trying to let Kate (but not nevessarily Sawyer) escape, but doesn't realize that it's harder than he thinks.

"dirty soul" > "alt country" or "krautrock"

...and who is the new couple? The guy using the bathroom in the hatch and the cute blonde girl?
Paolo and Nikki - they were introduced last episode at the end. Hopefully they'll be killed soon.
-
Oh, c'mon, no way...you probably listened to one track, or a part of one track?
Dude, how did I know you'd accuse that guy of not listening to it enough, or not listening properly, or whatever.
Personally I like it. It's cool if others don't.
-
Maybe now people will finally - finally! - stop calling it "Walken." Which is stupid. And not the name of the song. Anyway...
Don't count on it champ.
-
What's "krautrock"?
Neu!
Random thoughts: Interesting how we haven't heard two of the completed tracks yet. I'm bummed they're not calling song Walken.

I think that Jazzmaster may be in fact a Jagmaster. Are those tone switches above the strings?
nope, and no way a gear whore like Tweedy plays a Squier

chavez is not "for life". he stands for re-election in situations that are not dissimilar to some american elections (although not in this lifetime). considering his country was a colony for all real purposes until very recently when heavy crude became viable, i'm willing to cut some slack.
go ahead and write off our history. the american revolution was far from perfect. our (excellent, imo) constitution in many ways betrayed the rhetoric and feeling of the revolution. the first 18 years of the US were pretty spotty. i think it says a lot more about what we became to really look at how crappy things were in those growing years. i don't think people who believe this place was the city on the hill from the get-go really understand what makes this country as great as it is (or was, or could be).
Dude, I'm seriously retarded - I got the idea in my head that the thread was about Che Guerva. Sorry.
Chavez is an asshole. But then again, so is Bush

well now we know about the X-ray and about Eko
where the hell are Sun and Jin, and why is no one asking about them?

How 'bout Kamera...
There are some pretty quick chord changes in that tune which might make it a little tough for the true beginner, but probably a good one for those who have mastered IATTBYH...
-
ours was much less democratic,
How many dictators for life did our revolution establish?

Maybe my lack of TV watching is to blame. I didn't even hear about this until today.
I'm talking news websites - every single one of them ran this story yesterday, all day.
-
Maybe. I haven't seen much of it in the news, to be honest, and I'm a pretty avid reader. It'll definitely be on Fox News tonight, but-
It seems like the biggest part of this is that conservatives want it to die because the clarification is much more damning than Kerry's gaffe. Dems want him to keep apologizing and explaining what he really meant.
Dude, this was on every major news outlet all of yesterday. Since the republicans keep demanding apologies and saying Kerry insulted the troops, I dont think they want it to go away.
-
I don't think the state should be allowed to take a human life. That's just not an acceptable punishment for any crime (IMO) and it's not a deterrent.
Fair enough

My brother was in SF not long ago, and he said the Haight (which was once a rundown, low-rent area) is now totally yuppified.
If I were there I'd go to the North Beach area, which is famous for the City of Lights Bookstore. It was a big gathering place for Kerouac, Ginsberg, and store founder Ferlinghetti, among others.
North Beach is pretty yuppified as well, but still worth a visit, as is the Haight.

If the armed forces were to feel that a politician thought he was above them, does that mean that if he made decision that they were in agreement with, would they automatically wish to go against them and undermine them just because he thought they were morons.
Who cares? No one called the troops morons

Thats true, have you ever seen his Pat Boone impression. Yeesh.

Does anyone ever do the claps in Standing O? I did last night and think I might have been the only one. Sort of felt like an idiot. Crowd way more subdued than the ones I've seen elswhere. Band was great thought. I do agree the sound was a little boomy up in the back.
