If I am not mistaken Jeff still takes most of the solos. Definetely on the AGIB stuff (although Nels does the viola bit from Hummingbird) and I think most of the older stuff that has solos as well.
most of the songs on AGIB where Jeff recorded a bona fide solo have Jeff still taking the solo, though Nels may add some layers underneath Jeff's guitar
ALTWYS: Jeff
Hell is Chrome: Jeff and Nels, mostly unison
Spiders: Jeff and some Nels
Hummingbird: Nels
Muzzle: Nels
Theologians: Jeff first 1/2, Nels 2nd 1/2
Jeff also takes the solo on ITMWLY, and plays significant lead guitar parts on Walken. All three guitarists solo on Hoodoo Voodoo.

I find it interesting that the people from the plane treat the others with malice and bodily harm - and the others do not treat them the same.
Dude, you remember what happened when they all first crashed there right?
So my question is - why are most of the main Others (exception is Ms. Klugh) seem to be hanging out at the Hydra Station these days and not in the main Other-ville on the big island? And I guess it's likely that the Others raiding party sailed from the little island to the Pela Ferry to steal the sailboat? I guess that's how they avoided Sayid and Jun - they came from ther water. But that means they have other boats I guess.

DUI arrest = Death on spooky tropical island
He was cleared of those charges, unlike Ana-Lucia and Libby

Any plans this Sunday to celebrate the 10th anniversary of Being There?
The Wilco Ensemble in Chicago will be performing both discs in their entirety this Sunday at 909 W Armitage, 8pm I think. No charge, and it's BYOB
(I bet you thought it was a silly question didn't you )

i think this is a great idea
im trying to figure out "the thanks i get" - anyone have any luck with this?
it sounds like he might be in Drop D (maybe?)
I think the tabs for just about all these songs, including "Thanks I Get" for sure, are on this site. If they don't come up on a search, try archive.viachicago.org and search there for the older ones.

I don't know if this topic has been discussed yet, though I'm sure it has in some degree. I'm looking for suggestions as to a good overdrive pedal for my setup (SG + AC30) in order to add a good Wilco/Neil Young crunch to my playing. It'd be nice if the pedal wasn't a whole lot more than $100 (US).
save $50 and get a Crowther Hotcake - many people consider this the overdrive for an AC30
If you were already playing into a cranking amp and needed something for solos I'd say some sort of treble booster, but it doesn't appear that that's what you're looking for.

Has anyone ever heard the Aimee Mann song "Dear John"? Now, I've never heard a prunes and custard pedal outside of what Tweedy uses it for (I couldnt get the Dustbowlers tracks to work on my mac..) but it seems like the guitar solo on that Mann song has something like a prunes and custard on it. Especially at the end of the solo (much like Hell is Chrome) it gets all funky with the modulation on the distortion. Just a thought...
any chance you could post an mp3?

They're being discussed already in the NBA thread.
Screw you elitist

I've never been phished this way, where they use eBay Second Chance Offers for something I bid on.
This is a very common scam these days. Good that you recognized the red flags.
Too bad you weren't phished with one of the "I'll send you a money order and you send me back the change" scams. Then you could send Rigi a fake money order

Something else has been bugging me. We saw a couple totally new Losties when Locke and Charlie bring Eko back to the beach, which is fine because I know there are more survivors than the main characters, but what about Rose and Bernard? I loved those two and their great story. I wonder if they're coming back any time soon.
EDIT: Right after I typed this I went to one of the boards and the first post I clicked on was this:
"I searched, and am surprised this hasn't been mentioned yet...
They gave names to two more of the survivors! We met Paolo and Nikki last night. I thought it odd that they had so many lines in that scene on the beach. Especially since they could have easily used Rose and Bernard there. I really think we're going to be seeing more of these two... "
Rose and Bernard were a cool part of the early episodes, but I don't see those characters doing much to advance the plot any more.
Paolo and Nikke are a little more able bodied, and therefore more useful in exploring, fighting others, etc..

I saw him play Junior at the Troubadour on the Palace at 4 AM tour. He solo'd so much on the song that HE HAD TO SIT DOWN to continue solo'ing. It was pretty cool, though.
I like Junior - wish he had done that with the band instead of solo.

I never really like the beard look, but that guitar is bringing sexy back
I always loved the Bob tunes - I think I'm one of 3 people who actually like Victim or the Crime

I can't wait to go back through these posts and find some good settings.
I pic I posted way back when showing Tweedy's setting has been changed, but it's basically Mix at 10:00 and Drive at 2:00, level to taste.

while i'm not gonna get into the Jay vs. Nels vs. whatever debate, it seems that a good portion of the people who diss on Jay never even saw the band live in person with him and base most of their comments off of how he was percieved in IATTBYH
