I was pleasntly surprised by last night's set. The past shows I've seen of them (on the SBS tour & some of the KT tour)...all of the songs in the sets fell into a rhythm. You could usually feel what was coming next. Tonight, I was completey surprised by each song they played. It also seeemed like the most positive & upbeat shows I've seen in a while. Also, after the show we got to talk to most of the band. Jeff said that would love to do the "catalog" shows again in a year or so...maybe even somewhere else other than Chicago. They all said they loved playing last week. John also said -
What does this mean??? Are these shows being webcast somewhere??? Someone please let me know!!!!

Ryan Adams just cancelled a few dates a few weeks ago & word on the street (whatever that means) was it was to do SNL. I have yet to hear that anything is confirmed yet. Who knows? I feel for you in the UK. I am sure they will re-book some gigs very soon. I'll cross my fingers for you.

I couldn't believe how tight the security was on the floor. I don't think I've ever been to a concert like it. At no point in the show was there an attempt to rush the stage. I had 6th row center & they were probably some of the best seats I've ever had. I could see everything perfectly. As much as I love being as close as possible, I was completely happy not having to be smashed into the person in front of me just to get a good view of the show. It was a great experience!

He signed my set list & told me he had to go to the bus & eat a Primanti Bros. sandwich.

when i saw them last year at wvu, there was no opener. jeff even commented that they don't do very many " an evening with wilco" shows, but he liked it. i agree as well. i don't want to bother with anything else but wilco. of course, i just saw andrew bird last week & it was amazing. i wish he was playing pittsburgh again.

Amen!

Please...tell me you are kidding.

Has anyone heard who might be opening on the last dates of the US tour...Pittsburgh & Charlottesville? Or do you think it will end up being "An Evening With Wilco" sans opening artist. There are only 2 US shows left (not including the Voodoo Festival) before they head to Europe. Just curious...

I don't mean to complain, but it annoys me when a presale is announced but fans are never notified via email. Isn't that why we submit our addresses to the site...so they can contact you when something significant is happening. I would say concert tickets would fall into that category. I just feel like we are expected to check the site everyday. That's just not possible all the time. Anyway, I just wanted to get that off my chest. I feel better now. -Chris

Is Political Science a cover? If so, by who? Just curious...

I talked to the band after the WVU show & they told me that the new album should be out in April. John told me they had like 13 songs recorded & are going to be recording a good bit more. Some of the songs they've been playing live from the summer & fall tours should make it onto the record, but he didn't specify anything in particular.

Their set list also showed that they planned to close with Misunderstood & California Stars. They probably just didn't get to them because they already played a full 2 hours.

Seeing IATTBYH (the film) actually got me into Wilco. I was never a fan of their studio albums. Plus, I had a few friends that kept telling me they were greater than sliced bread. Needless to say, it sort of put me off. Once I saw them perform live in the film, I finally realized how wrong I was & how amazing they are! As far as I am concerned, they are at their best live...& the film helped me realize that. That's my two cents...
