  1. god bless the internet. if it were only a couple of years ago, we wouldn't have things like bittorrents, oink, leaked albums, etc.

seriously though, where is it? knowing it will be leaked in a week only makes me want it more. i'd love to get off work, relax and listen to Sky Blue Sky. it would be the best thing in the world right about now i think...

  2. it would be cool if the album leaked before i vomited in frustration, lost control of my bowels in anticipation and went completely, irrevocably insane - all at once. i fucking hating waiting.

  3. thanks for the review! i was thinking it could leak any day, but now it seems inevitable. knowing it could be at 1:00 PM or this weekend or whenever is killing me. i must have it right away. that having been said, i don't think that it would be a problem if someone leaked a review copy...anyone on this board will be buying a copy. plus, Wilco obviously don't care if people hear the album early.

  4. >By the way, anyone surprised to see On and On and On make the cut?

not me. as i said, i talked to Jeff after the C-ville show and i asked him specifically about this song (since it really was gorgeous and perfect in it's live incarnation. he said that it was a very good possibility that it would make the cut. i'm assuming it's the last song on the album b/c he decided to add it after i spoke to him. j/k, of course.

i am glad to see 2-3 unheard songs on the album. i'm thinking that the poster who said "You Are My Face" is LGNC has transcribed the lyrics or something and is right...so that would make two new songs that we haven't heard...unless "Let's Fight" was re-titled as well. all that aside, i'm going to miss "Let's Fight" and i was slightly disheartened a couple of weeks ago after finding out that "Is This The Thanks I Get?" wasn't going to make the cut, as the song really grew on me... those piano fills...my God!

  5. of course, "Is This The Thanks I Get?" isn't supposed to be on the new record, according to what Jeff said at the one show. didn't he say it would be on the one after that?

also, I spoke to Jeff a couple of weeks ago and he said it was a good possibility that "On & On & On" would be on the next record. i'm glad too.

  6. less poetic? bullshit. maybe on "What Light," "Walken" and "Is This The Thanks I Get?". take a look at the lyrics to these two songs which i recently transcribed. you would have said the same thing if you'd heard "I'm A Wheel" and "The Late Greats" before AGIB came out.

    "Shake It Off"

    sunlight angles on

    wooden floor at dawn

    ceiling fan is on

    chopping up my dreams

    what is left of them

    take to sleep again

    where i dare pretend

    i'm more than i seem

    tears get triggered

    yours remind me

    of the ice

    melting in my glass

    finally full again

    so i'll listen for

    your lips to break apart

    into words

    the devil nearly starts

    swore my heart

    somewhere there's a war

    sometimes it's hard

    the devil nearly starts

    swore my heart

    somewhere there's a war

    sometimes it's hard

    when i'm waking up

    i'm gonna shake it off

    i'm gonna shake it off

    i'm gonna shake it off

    i'm gonna shake it off

    hotels hold me

    thoughts horizon

    so many hearts

    beating in one place

    like a giant beast

    with many souls

    no, just a body

    full of holes

    when i'm waking up

    i'm gonna shake it off

    i'm gonna shake it off

    "Side With The Seeds"

    the tired stoplight

    the blacktop cracks

    leaves fall through

dark green enough to be blue

but the mysteries we believe in

are dreamed enough to the true

    some side with the leaves

    some side with the seeds

    tree-top ?

    rains ?

    ?

    the swings are slowly dying

but you and i will be undefeated

    by agreeing to disagree

noone wins but the the theives

    so i side with anything

    the street lights' glow

    comes and goes

    but the sun comes back

as we all can plainly see

    but embracing the situation

is our only chance to be free

    i'll side with you

    if you side with me

add "Impossible Germany" to the list of poetic songs too.

  7. yeah, good times. my first time seeing Jeff solo as well. got to meet with Jeff and talk with him after the show. i asked him if "On & On & On" would be on the new record and he said it was a good possibility. i had an excellent time. i only wished he'd played "Sky Blue Sky," but i can't complain!

  8. i'm on a Dylan message board too and if i'm hitting up a show, i usually meet some of the people before/after. so, anyone up for a beer or something pre-show? it's right there on the mall, right?

if so, e-mail me at notdarkyet(at)aol.com.

  9. I'm 24, graduated from James Madison University with a degree in Sociology and Political Science. Now live in downtown Richmond, VA and work an office job at a law firm. Discovered Wilco back in 2002 when YHF came out because I am a huge music nerd myself. As far as Wilco goes, I like the Mermaid stuff, but mostly listen to Summerteeth, YHF, AGIB, the two EPs, Kicking Television and the bootlegs (live and outtakes). Also into: Bob Dylan, Neil Young, The Beatles, Robert Johnson, Beck, Iron & Wine, Radiohead, Talking Heads, Johnny Cash, Hank Williams, My Morning Jacket, The Roots, The White Stripes, The Flaming Lips, Springsteen, Bright Eyes... Also into film and literature.

I guess some of you would call me a yuppie because I work at an office, own an iPod (I own it because I listen to music non-stop, so why wouldn't I?) and live in a large urban area. My favorite movie at the time is I Heart Huckabees (not favorite of all time, but favorite at this moment) and i'm currently reading Kafka. I also like to dress nicely, drink only good beer, have been to Europe and eat a lot of Thai food. So sue me.
