  1. The other day I was walking through the kitchen sing "Driveshaft" ( for those of you who don't watch LOST that is the little leprecon looking fellows fictitious band) "You are everybody...." WORST song ever/ good character. For those of you who do watch LOST I'm only on the second season DVD's and the episode about he and his brother I had seen the night before.( don't won't to give away any spoilers in case ~theshua has yet to get to his TIVO from 2 years ago. ) Anywho I'm thinking what song is this I'm singing, like from when I was kid/ or really obscure, I was obsessed all day and then it came to me, very disappointing.

  2. thats pretty weird, but i still maintain the the weirdest use of wilco ever was the time when they were all used to dress up as elves and made to walk aroud the chistmas craft fair at the redlands CA shriners auditorium giving out free samples of poprocks fruit rollups on behalf of the warner brothers affiliated nabisco foods.

That was in "learning how to die" also

  3. I've decided that the bonus version cd that came with the LP is for my purse and the regular hard case version is to keep at home. The purse version will fit in the pockets of ladies or fellas that don't carry purses as well. It's SBS Travel Edition. Buying multiple copies of Wilco albums is aways a good idea, I say.

Remember the controversy off Jeff considering Being There to be two albums (in record sales) When my vinyl copy arrived I was surprised to find the bonus cd. The first thing I thought was this must count as two albums (again, in sales total)

  4. As long as we're having this argument, can I turn back the clock a few years and rant about how wussy I thought Summerteeth was when it came out? I wasn't a member of the board back then and totally missed out on that.

I think every Wilco record so far has been somebody's undeniable proof that the universe is going to hell in a handbasket.

That would be great, maybe i could buy a vinyl copy for less than $120 :realmad

PS I still think it is a bit on the wussy side, but love all the songs when I hear them live, solo or full band. Except "shot in the arm" little tired of that one, oh wait, this is not a thread to bitch about wilco.

  5. I read that to mean use the USB to listen to the LP - instead of using, say my 1972 receiver.

I agree with what both of you are saying. What I would like to do is transfer some music that I have on vinyl only, out of print hard to find etc. onto my Ipod, so I can play it in my car, at work, save wear and tear on the vinyl. A turn table I can plug into my computer could convert that data into a digital file so I could? yes?

    Second question:

Would the transfer cause considerable sound quality loss? To say, would just sound like a digital file I bought of itunes or would it sound like the album, with the loveable pops ands skips?

  6. Wurd!

Alot of my Missipi John hurt, Hounddog Taylor etc. Cd's have the sound and feel of vinyl, with the surface noise, cracks and pops etc. If one had said USB turntable could one place old vinyl on there Ipod, etc. and have the same quality as the vinyl??

I guess the question is does converting vinyl into digital file lose the quality of vinyl?

  7. I heard something on npr a couple of weeks ago saying the new USB compatible turn tables were a part of the increased sells in vinyl? I also think the trend towards higher quality vinyl 180g etc. is the reason I buy more vinyl now than in years past. Bands like WILCO help, I will be adding a new double album 180g to my collection today as a matter of fact

  8. closer :dancing
