  1. I started my blues exploration with a Muddy Water live record and a John Lee Hooker 2 disc set.

    My favorites are

    Muddy Waters At Newport 1960

B.B. King - Live at the Regal

Muddy Waters - His Best (1947-1955 and 1956-1964)

The London Howlin' Wolf Sessions (w/ Eric Clapton, Steve Winwood, Bill Wyman, Charlie Watts)

    These all basically electric records.

  2. Most LPs are still 33 1/3 although there are some at 45. There is a whole series of audiophile Blue Note releases that are a ton of money that play at 45. There are certainly 12 inch singles that play at 45, but your standard LP is still 33.

If the grooves are further apart it plays faster that's all or else there is just alot of dead wax at the end of each side.

I was thinking of those Blue Notes and I also believe Hail To The Thief is a 12" 45. But I haven't bought vinyl in a few years since my TT broke. These Wilco releases are certainly making me think about buying one now even if I can't afford a nice one.

  3. So, I took this to mean that the shows they filmed a few years back (that turned into the Kicking Television album) are still out there and ready for potential use. Am I alone in that interpretation?

They have a Wilco Archive project planned but they are waiting for a better format than Blu Ray.

  4. It's probably best that they cancelled them. I know it must suck if you were able to get them, but imagine if you're normally very on top of getting tickets when they go on sale, but because you weren't on ticketmaster at some random time, you have to pay ridiculous scalper prices. Cancelling them was definitely the fair thing to do.

  5. Is anyone goiong to either screening in Sarasota -- well I'm betting a lot of people will, but anyone from the list?

I'm considering it but both times don't fit my schedule well. I really want to, but I can't see taking work off to see a movie that I will buy a few weeks later.

  6. I saw this story on the TMZ last night (yea, I sort of addicted to the show now.....my bad) and it is a stitch and a half. What the hell does anyone need a portajohn for with a huge fucking house in Malibu anyway? Can't he and his house guests use the probably half dozen or more bathrooms IN THE HOUSE????

In his old age Dylan is going off the deep end I guess.

    It's for security guards. I don't think he's crazy.
