29 is a highly underrated album in my opinion. 'nightbirds', 'blue sky blues', 'carolina rain' and 'starlite diner' are all great tunes! perhaps they could have been better if they were fleshed out with the cardinals, but i agree with analogman, his darkest music is some of my favourite. and yes analogman, ryan recently stated that love is hell is the best music he has ever written. having said that, despite being very hard pressed to pick a favourite, cold roses and jacksonville city nights are contenders for my favourite ryan albums

dear john blew my mind this past week at the bbc show and at koko. it has fastly become perhaps my favourite ryan tune to hear live. all the new tracks sound incredible live. they translate so well, especially with the current acoustic set-up the cardinals had going on for this short tour. if you haven't already, i suggest you get hold of the kingston show for a taster of the new material in a live setting. can't wait for the koko show to appear

not sure if im pointing out a site that many people already know about, but www.fabchannel.com have a tonne of live concerts that you can stream instantaniously. this is what they are about: "There is a lot of great music in the world. Much more than you hear on popular radio and television. Because of formats, timeslots, playlists and other old media concepts you are not getting what you should. There are bands out there that are going to change the future of music. And bands that already did. Very few of them are getting airplay these days. One thing that they are doing is touring th

hey all, my apologies if this has been discussed somewhere but was unable to find anything doing a search... i remember hearing a few months back that chan was back in the studio with the newly formed dirty delta blues band but haven't heard anything since. has anyone heard of anything going on in the studio/potential release dates? just picked up a pair of tickets to see her in brooklyn with built to spill in july am eager to hear how the DDBB sound... anyway, cheers all!

i agree, for the most part. the last performer i made a point of tuning in for was cat power, and i was impressed (then again, it would take alot for me to not be ). what do you think about sessions at abbey road? i think it would be brilliant if the show had more consistency in terms of good artists. will definately be watching for wilco though!

honestly, i didn't really hear much from her at all. just some backing harmonies here and there. not as good as goodnight rose (the only other track off this album i have heard..which is incredible on so many levels), but not bad. ohh, and cheers for the link

i can see why everyone is saying 'You Forgot It In People'...it is definately a good place to start. i may be in the minority, but i like some or the more instrumental albums the most. 'Bee Hives' is my favourite BSS album...and Feist's version of Lover's Spit is above and beyond the version on YFIIP

this sounds great, cheers for the heads up! do you think this is any of the venus 3 material?
