  1. Do you know if the vinyl set allows you to download mp3s of the songs like most vinyl editions of his albums?
  2. Dylan and Macca to collaborate? From the Guardian today: "Bob Dylan has celebrated his latest album going to No 1 on both sides of the Atlantic by hinting that his next project could be a collaboration with Paul McCartney. Dylan's 33rd studio album, Together Through Life, is reported to have sold 125,000 copies in its first week in America. But instead of dwelling on his chart victory, the iconic singer-songwriter has been busy telling Rolling Stone magazine that he would definitely consider working with McCartney. "That would be exciting, to do something with Paul," Dylan said. "But, yo
  3. I managed to get over to my local record store, Rough Trade, and pick up the Wilco dvd yesterday and just managed to sort out the audio downloads and DC gig! Thanks Wilco for your continual generosity!!!
  4. Cheers for the heads up! Just picked up some standing tickets
  5. According to an e-mail update I recieved from Gigantic, tickets go on sale at 10am on Monday.
  6. Is it Ryan, or is it Lost Highway? I mean, was this EP arranged by Ryan himself or is this a last-ditch attempt by LH to rake in some cash on Ryan's tunes? Because I really can't see Ryan doing something like this...
  7. I'm surprised Eric Clapton hasn't been mentioned thus far. I think he has one of the most distinguishable guitar tones out there (for better or worse)... I can tune into the middle of a guitar solo and know that it is Clapton immediately.
  8. Rock & Roll, no? I too would want to mangle someone's face if they were screaming freebird at me whilst I was on stage trying to perform..
  9. I would be lying if I said I wasn't pleasantly surprised by this album...
  10. I was just coming here to post about this! This article in the Guardian today explains the song and Paul's ambitions in a bit more detail: http://www.guardian.co.uk/music/2008/nov/1...rnival-of-light
  11. Yea, so am I. This album has really grown on me over the past few weeks. To be honest, there isn't a track on this album I would skip. To me, Magick is a very similar track to Halloween Head on Easy Tiger. Neither are trying to be anything serious, rather laid-back, fun tunes! Having heard a lot of the new album in a live setting in Dublin really helped my appreciation for Cardinology. The songs take on a whole new life in a live setting (notably Cobwebs, Born Into a Light, Crossed Out Name and Evergreen). I can't name very many, if any bands, that are capable of replicating such a unique l
  12. I can't get enough of 'the next messiah' at the moment. It's a helluva jam!
  13. Not that Rolling Stone holds much credibility with me anymore, but they seem impressed... http://www.rollingstone.com/reviews/...12/cardinology 4 Stars Ryan Adams' drug problems and public tantrums have often overshadowed his music. But Cardinology may put an end to that. His first release in a year
  14. It looks like Jeff did mean Spring 2009! Wilco Eyeing Spring '09 For New Album: http://www.billboard.com/bbcom/news/articl...t_id=1003840065
  15. Please come do some dates here in the UK to make up for the cancelled dates last year...I promise we will forget all about it if you give us a show or two (solo or otherwise!)
  16. I think that this is an excellent post that describes how many of us are feeling. Very well said! It would be one thing if it was down to a band members' illness, but 'scheduling conflicts'?!?! These dates have been scheduled for months, and to call it off less than two weeks and give a poor excuse such as scheduling conflicts is just not acceptable...by any band, Wilco or not. We aren't even talking about a date or two, but all the tour dates throughout the country.

  18. absolutely. i have nothing more to say because nothing more need be said.
  19. yea, i think it is a very well done cover. very unique. also, 'i'm on fire' is one of my favourite springsteen tunes, but i think her take on it is fantastic.
  20. ...what a fantastic album. if you haven't heard it already, i highly suggest giving it a listen. i would certainly rank this in my top 10 of this year thus far. my apologies if this album has been discussed in another thread. a search showed nothing.
  21. has anyone pondered the thought of a jeff solo album? i'm not advocating that he should do one, but it sure would be interesting.
  22. http://www.billboard.com/bbcom/news/articl...t_id=1003630961 that MTV Unplugged & Glastonbury footage should be great!
  23. do you have The Suicide Handbook and/or Exile on Franklin Street? i would highly reccommend giving those two a listen for starters. edit: i'm not sure if i am way behind on this, but i was reading the liner notes for heartbreaker earlier today and noticed pat sansone played they keys on 'oh my sweet carolina'. very rock & roll! i can't believe i missed that all these years.
  24. if you are looking for something a little more 'rocking' i would suggest Cold Roses. argueably one his best albums, though JCN would get my vote i reckon. anyway, glad to hear you are digging Heartbreaker and ET!
