  1. I love all my travel babies the same. :lol

On the Thailand/Cambodia trip we also went to Laos, and that's probably one of my favorite places I've ever been to. We did that trip in about two and a half weeks and it felt very rushed, so I wouldn't recommend trying to do the SE Asia countries together unless you have at least a month or so.

I'm hoping to go to Vietnam next February, never been.

  2. I've been to Cambodia, Thailand, Colombia - a few days to a week in each place - and I spent three weeks in Tasmania last spring. Cartagena is a fun place but has gotten incredibly touristy; I liked Bogota much better. Tasmania has possibly some of the best natural, untouched beauty on the planet and is amazing for hiking. And Angkor Wat is Angkor Wat - stunning.

Feel free to PM me if you want more info on any of these places.

  3. Lots of good ideas here, but I would also suggest that you check out the brand new High Line Park, built on an old elevated subway track. I would highly suggest walking across the Brooklyn Bridge then checking out the NY Transit Museum, followed by lunch or dinner at one of the many awesome restaurants in Brooklyn Heights. I'm actually not a big fan of Grimaldi's pizza, and I think some of the smaller hole-in-wall places are better, but it's definitely an experience. The ice cream shop on the Brooklyn Promenade is insanely good.

PS1 is a fun little museum in Long Island City, Queens (very close to midtown Manhattan), where you will also find many delicious and cheap restaurants. Otherwise, there are always plenty of outdoor (and mostly free) concerts, movies, and events happening on any given day/night in the summer - pick up the latest issue of Time Out New York when you get here, it has the most comprehensive listings (you could also check out their website).

    Have fun!

  4. Did anyone else notice that in the scene where Locke has his fall, it almost looks like Jacob brought him back from the dead? Maybe that's why Locke had to die again, off island, for Jacob's enemy to be able to inhabit his body. That resurrection had to be reversed, or something. I don't know.

  5. PS - Jacob is hoT.

Agreed! And... kind. I was stuck on the phone for the first few minutes, so I saw what was going on, but didn't hear any of the dialogue. Will re-watch first thing tomorrow for sure.

By the way, I was really hoping that Ben would come out with some "I've been knowing what's up this whole season" voodoo at the end of the episode. I'm really not fond of this broken, naive follower that he's become (although, kudos to Michael Emerson for the last scene with Jacob, and to the writers for finally giving him some good material again).

That ship had to have been the Black Rock, and I'm thinking that's where Richard came from.

  6. so what, alive Locke is actually Widmore disguised as Locke? Or someone we've never even met yet? And who's coming?! Every time I think they can't take things any farther, they go ahead and do it. I love this show.

edit: or maybe not Widmore? I kind of missed the first few minutes, which I gather was quite important.
