  1. For my money '73 is THE year. That is one of my faves. The ULTIMATE Playin' triple-decker sammich imho. The transition from Dew back into UJB almost brings tears of joy it's so beautiful.
  2. It kind of blows my mind to think on the day I was born The Stones had already been playing out as a band for about 5 months.
  3. The scream in The Floyd's "Careful With that Axe, Eugene" usually gives me a good chill.
  4. I did NOT know that! What's the story on that one?
  5. Man, there's really something WRONG with you - one of these days you're gonna self-destruct!
  6. Goat's Head is only looked at as "bad" when you look at the previous 5-6 LPs that came before it. I actually like some of it quite a bit - esp. Dancing With Mr. D. Only RxR is pretty bad, minus the title track of course (Keef's riffs at the end of RxR is some of my fave shit he's ever done), but Black & Blue is just about completely unlistenable to me.
  7. I too believe that, musically speaking at least, the Taylor Era is the cream of the crop. BUT - Beggars is still my favorite.
  8. Sugaree became a MONSTER from March '77 on through about '83. Jerry speed-picking those triplets just gives me goosebumps.
  9. LOVE the intro - the "weave" with Keef & Ronnie is good stuff. Maybe a bit formulaic, but solid nonetheless.
  10. Oh man! I remember the first time I heard Side Trips - it totally blew me out. I still listen to that a few times a year, 15 years later.
  11. Hey Mr. H - 30th anniversary of the Frost run. Break 'em out!
  12. 1. Celluloid Heroes 2. Destroyer 3. Victoria 4. Low Budget 5. Superman 6.Till The End Of The Day 7. All Day & All Of The Night 8. Where Have All The Good Times Gone? 9. Waterloo Sunset 10. Father Christmas
  13. I was burned out after WTA came out. I'll occasionally throw on some YHF, ST or BT, or even a live show, but that's a rare thing. I never ever burn out on the good ol' GD.
  14. I would assume "productivity" would include not wasting time posting on a message board while on the clock.
  15. I tend to agree with ya, but as long as it is what it is PE & NWA should be there. Probably my 2 favorite bands of that genre. I have a doc on PE "Welcome to the Terrordome" that is fantastic. And a bit scary.
  16. Dicks on vinyl is a bit ridiculous I think. I sure as hell don't want to be hearing some 30 minute jam and then have to flip the record.
  17. At least Rush is on the ballot this year. And hell yes Bolan should be there.
  18. Yeah, Live at Keystone has received more play than just about anything in all my GD releases. It's hard to tire of it. The Like a Road has brought out some emotional responses over the years, especially after burying a loved one/friend,etc.
  19. I mentioned the lack of '82 for official releases and somehow forgot 8/7/82 Alpine. One of my favorite "cowboy" first sets ever. Than run from 7/31 to about 8/10 is stellar. One of the better weeks in their last 15 years imo.
  20. WOW. I like Satanic Majesties a lot.
  21. Did you ever see that "Classic Albums" episode on Machine Head? It's excellent. I DVR'd it and have watched it a number of times.
