  1. This was my first Tweedy solo show, but I've seen Wilco a few times. Jeff seemed really comfortable and he played a bunch of songs I've been dying to hear live. Sadly I didn't get to hear Gun (maybe some other time), but I have no complaints at all about going. Pronto was stellar as well.
  2. Having Wilco come to my town was fantastic. Surprisingly my buddies were able to get three tickets to the show outside for face value. I got to Red Bank at around 2 so I could spend the day/see any members walking around. I managed to see Nels and Mike in different places; Mike spent a good half and hour in Jack's Music talking to one of the workers (whose band's t-shirt Mike wore on Letterman). It didn't really hit me about the show until I got to Count Basie. The crowd, for the most part, was pretty lame. There were a lot of sitters/talkers in my section but nonetheless the show was fantasti
  3. The National played very well and with great intensity, but it was basically to an empty arena. Everyone was in the lobby waiting for Arcade Fire, which is a lame move. The Arcade Fire energy was off the wall though. I was on the second balcony and nearly everyone was standing and haveing a great time. I saw a few fights between the security and fans, usually ending with the fan pushing through for a closer look. The security was bogus; why not let people fill the aisles? And I'm certain Win got an ear-full after leaving the stage, hence the apology at the beginning of the encore. I've be
  4. What do you think the chances are for the boys to add a NYC date on October 21st?
  5. About an hour before the show started, Sufjan himself was out talking with his buddies in front of Town Hall. If that wasn't enough...he played one of the most emotionally affecing shows I've ever had the pleasure of viewing. Town Hall is a great place to see a show. It barely fits 800 people, so the show seemed more intamite. After a good two hours of music from all over the board (Michagan, The Avalanche, even a new one) he encored with my two favorite song, They are Night Zombies and Casimir Pulaski Day. The latter of which is my all time favortie song by any artist. Overall, it was
  6. The new Decemberists cd is really amazing. Agree/Disagree
  7. My url says http://viachicago.org/ ...It is one of my favorite sites. One of my favorite things about it is that you can voice your opinion, regardless of whether or not it is the popular opinion of the board. I wouldn't be on here if I didn't love Wilco, but that doesn't mean I have to think they are the best. So, next time you try to call me out, have a valid point.
  8. Paul Simon has always been my favorite, but being 16 years old, I've never really had the chance to catch him live. Last night, at the PNC Bank Arts Center, I got a chance to see him for the first time and I was blown away. His songs alone are enough for me to declare the show the best one I have ever seen. Next time he is in the area, I must get seats that are close up because I was very far away on the lawn. i truley believe the man is the greatest if all time and I can't wait to see him again.
  9. Anyone catch this show? As faras free shows go this was amazing. Okkervil are one of my favorite bands and I was happy to see them at a small venue for free. Will Sheff is a great live preformer. They played a lot of Black Sheep Boy as well as my favorite early song, and it seemed the crowds favorite, Westfall. Overall it was worth the trip to the city.
  10. I had tickets to this show, but I'm not 18 so I had to sell them I have yet to see the Lips live and they are my favorite band. Hopefull they are in the area again soon.
  11. I just put a review up on my blog. Feel free to check it out. So far it's the only entry: http://www.bernie-music.blogspot.com/
  12. passenger40...I'm happy to see you on here. I was one of the teenagers waiting after the show. I think it's awsome you turned your son on to some good music.
  13. Is there anywhere else I could get this show. I really want it but I'm not registered with the site and registration is full ;(
  14. This was my first Wilco show, but it damn sure won't be my last. I too waited outside after the show. I'm glad John, Nels, and Glen came out to say hello, but I can't say I'm not disappointed that Jeff didn't come out. I would have loved to have gotten a picture with him. The show itself was amazing. Kidsmoke and Im the man who loves you were amazing, and I loved "The Late Greats" as a closer.
