  3. Yeah, i got the 'Fearless Leader' box set new from amazon for $13.99.
  4. This thread is breaking my bank! I just ordered the "Fearless Leader" box set.
  5. i was about to say the same thing, imsjry. this is the best thread in via chicago history! i usually just lurk the site and hardly post, but i've let my guard down a little on this thread! anyway, we should look out for each other for deals like this. that's why i was offering up the bootleg in my earlier post.
  6. just received the box set today...beautiful packaging. $11.99 was a complete steal!
  7. the artwork for this set is sick. the guy did an amazing job. it looks like an official blue note label release.
  8. I recently downloaded a 12 disc live set of Coltrane called Live Train Underground". It's sick! If anybody is interested in this you can PM me. 9. just got an email from best buy saying the box set shipped.
  10. she's like, wow, f##k the heartbreaker vinyl...check out that package!
  11. Yeah, it's called "Hot CD mastering". Read this article...it's pretty interesting. It's about mastering/mixing CD's. http://www.johnvestman.com/hot_cd.htm
  12. The sound is much better when they spread out the album over double vinyl. Ryan Adams is right about the wider grooves giving more bass and punch. The Cold Roses, Heartbreaker & Jacksonville City Nights albums sound amazing because they did that. Cardinology and Easy Tiger sound like crap because they were cheaply made.
  13. Awsome Matt! Thanks for posting that. Yeah, i heard his paintings were rediculously overpriced. I am looking forward to the 7" singles.
  14. oh jesus...gimme a break. who are you? phil spector?
  15. I bought their first CD and hated it. To me they sound like re-hashed indie shoegaze noise from the early 90's. Just pick up a Velocity Girl CD...they do a much better job than these Vivivan Girls.
  16. Copper Blue brings me back to the summer of 1993...what a great album.
  17. if it has more balls i don't want anything to do with it. now, if it has more vagina then, it's possible i'll pick this mono thing up.
  18. Don't buy the Beatles remasters, unless... http://news.cnet.com/8301-13645_3-10351798-47.html?part=rss&tag=feed&subj=TheAudiophiliac They're good, but do the remastered Beatles CDs offer a big enough sonic improvement over the 1987 CDs to make them essential? Listening over my high-end, two-channel system they absolutely do! But are the differences large enough to show up over an iPod, car system, or computer speakers? The 2009 remasters are louder than the 1987 versions, so a quick comparison might lead you to believe the remaster is "better" simply because it's a little louder
  19. i agree...drive my car is one of my least favorite beatles songs. 'yesterday and today' was the very first beatles album i owned...remember getting it for xmas when i was a kid.
  20. yeah, the US versions begins with "I've Just Seen a Face"...one of my fav's.
