never underestimate the power of a nice cardigan sweater.

Also, if she works anywhere downtown, or where there is a specific place she frequents for coffee or lunch, load up a gift card for her so she doesn't have to buy lattes for a month or something. keep the registration information so you can keep loading it up for her as a special treat. it sounds banal but a friend of mine did it for his new girlfriend who is a resident at the hospital and she never had time for lunch and she so appreciate the Au Bon Pain gift card because she never had to worry about whether she had her wallet or anything and she could get a cookie or a coffee or lunch. It is almost two years now, and they live together, but he still puts money on her card for her. I think its sweet.

I will kill any cricket that I can find within earshot of me when I am trying to sleep, and my conscience is clear on that count. I have no problem killing earwigs, silverfishes, centipedes and mosquitoes on sight, but I try to be more gentle with other arthropods.

i'm with calibubble on all but crickets. They don't make me as crazy. I'll just try to get them outside. we did not use any bug killing stuff on the garden, instead we planted eggplant as a decoy and let them have at it, because neither of us likes eggplant. We had very little nibblage of anything else.

My father always taught me that if you kill a spider it will rain the next day. I will wrap it in tissue and put it outside if i can. I don't want the cats eating spiders because some times they can get sick.

I would like to see more mound charging. Fights are part of the game too. sometimes really great baseball is played after a blow up. i'm all for that. That said, I'm not positive that Youks was hit on purpose, and certainly the Tigers pitcher looked damn surprised to see Youk and his feral cat lumbering up on him. The idea that baseball is somehow immune to acts of rage and anger is not realistic.

Did they have animated marlins fans too, or where the fans all from other teams playing the marlins?

College Park is nice. I worked there for 6 months. How come Cryptique never told me he had a brother out here? We could have met at Franklin's for a beer. There's a great knitting store in Hyattsville (right on Route 1) and there are a few good farmers market in Riverdale Park and College Park. There are some new funky lofts near Franklin's and the knitting store that might be a steal right now and last i heard, a Whole Foods was coming in right in the area.

And i absolutely agree with living near work. I commuted from Springfield VA to College Park every day for 6 months and it just about killed me. I had to quit.
