or New Englands. in other news: that steakhouse that ron cey took us to with the pineapple martinis was really good. Sullivans? expensive but delish.

oh please, you'd be sitting on caliber's lap "playing" that goofy ventriloquist "game" you two do...

two words: Ann Sathers.

is there a reason why we still don't have a "what to do in chicago" thread just pinned already?!

if i was there i'd totally be making some of my signature balloon animals.

i did not see happy feet, but i did see cars and it was probably the stupidest animated film i've seen in a very very long time, perhaps even ever. disclosure: caliber's brother LOVED it and we had to get it for him for Christmas.

corn syrup is evil, but suspect that with the huge move to make ethanol, we're going to have a corn shortage and maybe we'll get back to putting regular cane sugar into stuff. either that or we're going to feed our livestock deadstock rather than feed... and we all know how that turned out...

E-sue ® is going to E-sue you back for using her name without her express written permission. you are so going to debtors prison now.

ok. here's what you do. any opportunity you can, you absolutely must screw over Peter Angelos in any way you can in the paper. Mis-spell is name, state his age as 20 years older than he is, mention what a tiny little penis he has, whatever. also caliber and i have tix to see Os vs Red Sox in September so maybe can meet up. Also there's a VC fantasy baseball league--you in this year?

Does anyone know what the deal is with US citizens getting work permits in England? Does the company you are working for have to apply for you, or is there a 6 month permit? I know there is for students...but wasn't sure about others.... Thanks in advance.

there is an I melt with you cover with a breathy female singer...i have it on my iPod somewhere. I kind of like it but i am not sure i heard it in a commercial. i am all for bands making $ off their songs--they wrote them, it is work product, they should get paid!, but like anyone else who touts a product, i would like for the artist to actually support/believe in the product for which their song is shilling. I can buy (so to speak) Lance Armstrong and Sheryl Crow driving Subaru all wheel drive wagons, but M.Ward in a cadillac? Too idealistic i guess, but i wouldn't sell guns for walmart, b

Lust for Life--cruises, i think. And i think some floral ad, like Teleflora used a buzzcocks song (not orgasam addict, unfortunately) i'd totally buy those flowers. that m&m ad though is just unsavory. the way all the m&ms suddenly get hair? why would you eat a candy covered in hair? that's just gross.
-
damn. I got about 18 on my own but i needed wacky hints from caliber to get the rest.

i guess i resent the unimaginativeness of the commercial when its a cool song i love. That's why i didn't object to the VW ad, or many of the VW ads, which have also featured Trio and others. The M&M ads, on the other hand, make me want to buy anything BUT m&ms because the ads are so stupid. And i can't help but wonder if M.Ward would buy a caddie. If he wouldn't, why would he let his music sell one?
-
for some reason i take it personally when my favorite songs are put in commercials. most recent horrors: the the "this is the day" in an M&M commercial Hem "Half an acre" in some insurance company M.Ward in a cadillac(?) commerical surely there are others...? oddly, i didn't mind it when VW used Pink Moon, in fact, it made me want to buy a VW, but these others--yuck.
