  1. I'm totally going to heckle them if they play it. LOL. Kidding, I kid.
  2. Just not a big fan of that tune...has a lot to do with Jeff not singing it. Like I said, just my personal preference.
  3. Absolutely. No disrespect to John or anything but honestly I hope they don't play "It's just that Simple" at the Cary NC show! Personally one of the biggest reasons (if not the biggest) I love Wilco is Tweedy's lead vocal. I know I'm not alone!
  4. John has a very good voice. However I prefer to hear him sing backup with Wilco. He has a great voice and all , but I wanna hear Tweedy!
  5. At this rate they could play anything next! Gotta love Wilco for that...
  6. NICE! I didn't like this song too much when I first heard the album. Actually when they did it on SNL it was killer. Now its one of my favs!
  7. Yeah the first tune they were wicked loud! Nels has been a little low too. Not too bad though.
  8. Funny because I recently watched one of those "VH1 Classic Albums" specials about Graceland. Paul was saying that Graceland was the best song he's ever written. (He might be right!) I just don't understand how an accomplished songwriter can take credit for someone else's idea?? Yet I can totally picture Paul being an ass about it. Oh well. Problem is, we put musicians up on pedestals...I am guilty of it too. But they are normal people who have human flaws. Well except for Jeff...he is the MAN! LOL.
  9. I've always loved Graceland. The only complaint I have is the 80's sounding drum kit he used. If they would just remaster that with some natural sounding drums it would be KILLER.
  10. Yes sir. The first two are right off Tryon. I'm assuming you'll be taking 1/64 to Koka booth. You'll get off right on Tryon road. If you pass Koka Booth there's a bunch of restaurants right there on Tryon. If you keep going you'll hit Kildaire Farm Road. Make a left, go about a mile and pass Cary Parkway...there will be a bunch more restaurants down there as well. Not far at all.
  11. Lucky 32, Danny's BBQ is right there... Hibernanian Pub isn't too far away...Carraba's and also there's a great Mexican place called Chipolte Grill.
  12. Anyone doing any tailgating before the show?
  13. I like the venue. I saw Alison Krauss there last summer...the sound was great. Sat on the lawn and looked at the stars all night. We sprung for seats to see Wilco though. Oh, and it's only about 10 minutes from my house!
  14. Ahhhh, I see! Didn't catch the discussion about the song requests before I posted! Doh!! It's much funnier now! LOL
  15. And why is that? You did something similar on a post of mine.
  16. Wow, thanks so much! Yeah the rehearsal recordings on myspace don't do us any justice at all. Our priority now is to get some quality recordings together.
  17. Thanks! LOVE the sound of Being There...that's kinda what we're going for! We're still figuring things out though...a work in progress. Magazine Called Sunset is a GREAT idea...hmmmm....
  18. My band plays a bunch of covers live...IMO some sound better than others! We do: Cortez the Killer (Neil Young) Knockin' on Heaven's Door (Dylan) Fans (Kings of Leon) Wagon Wheel (Old Crowe Medicine Show) Cripple Creek (The Band) Stir it Up (Marley) Let it Ride (Ryan Adams) I think Wagon Wheel is my favorite..basically because we do it electric, so our approach/arrangement is very different. Heaven's Door is fun too...I get to play some slide on it Have some vids on: http://www.myspace.com/radioislandband
  19. Yeah, cool right? Only Wilco...
  20. Hey guys, I have a band that is influenced by Wilco among many other things... The other singer and myself are HUGE Wilco fans and we've been trying to decide on a Wilco cover to play. We've tried Handshake Drugs & Got You. They were good, but not "us". I had an idea the other day to do a version of Dash 7 that's a little more upbeat, with a full band. (I'd like to throw in some slide guitar as well...) It would be very different than the original but i can hear it in my head and I think it could be killer. It's a great song with great melodies to begin with. What do y'all think? Joe
  21. The wife and I will be there! Can't wait. Did y'all submit song requests?? http://wilcoworld.net/roadcase/request_form.php
  22. Hey, what's up guys... That was my first solo Jeff Tweedy show and I am STILL stoked about it! I've been dying to see him live for a long time. Now I'll make it a point to catch his show every time he's in NC! His version of Walken was AWESOME!!!! I was hoping for a few more Wilco tunes...Sunken Treasure and stuff like that...but even though I wasn't too familiar with alot of the stuff he played, I still enjoyed every song he played! Can't wait to get a recording of the show! (I was sitting to the right of the stage where that annoying light was!) Did anyone else hear that guy near me yel
