I like the QOTSA comparison, because it's warranted and kind of a surprising connection, so that's insightful.
I was surprised by the QOTSA-ness of that song on my first listen but it works really well.

I have been here for 12 years... Welcome back stay for some coffee or something
Thanks
It's good to see a lot of display names I recognize. I have a bad habit of disappearing from the world periodically, but I figure VC is a good place to chill. Can't hurt to have another source of entertainment while at work, either.

It's nice to see you again! And yeah, what an album they've sprung on us lucky fans! I get to see them the day after tomorrow, and I'm psyched!
Hey man, thanks Good to see you're still kicking it. I was hoping to see 'em this summer (they'll be a few hours from here this weekend), but I just couldn't swing it.

my 7 year old's been on a major PJ kick lately.

I love the record SO MUCH. I'm developing an unhealthy attachment to it. It's practically all I think about. Pity the poor people around me who have no interest in talking about how brilliant Star Wars is! It's really difficult not to overdo it by listening multiple times a day. Don't want to ruin it for myself, which I've done before! So envious of those going to shows in the next few weeks/months that will likely get to hear it played in its entirety. Damn.
I agree, I've been obsessively thinking about the album and it grows with every listen. It's what led me back to VC after years of being away, I was looking forward to seeing everyone's thoughts.
I found it very interesting (perhaps because it's related to my work ) >>
How Wilco Used MailChimp Automation to Release Their New Album

this is cool, i hadn't seen it. it's related to my work as well, and it's a lot more interesting than the business example that usually get cited

and i just finished this:

So, I was driving to work the other day, listening to Star Wars, and I thought, "I wonder if Via Chicago is still going strong?" Hell, not only is it, but damn, my profile still exists after 7 years. So, anyway, Hey There to any folks left over from those days. I've missed ya.

my wife and i took my ten year old stepson, and my eight week old. it was a great show. quite a different vibe from the oregon show last summer, but amazing nonetheless, and it was definitely cool to see the vibe between the band and fleet foxes.

I've always had a natural penchant for hyperbole but stiil I cannot overstate the importance of the Plastic Ono Band album. It's just one of the most cathartic things a person could ever listen to.
i'm currently downloading the home recording sessions for that album

just listened to "Love" and had to post the lyrics here
Love is real, real is love,
Love is feeling, feeling love,
Love is wanting to be loved.
Love is touch, touch is love,
Love is reaching, reaching love,
Love is asking to be loved.
Love is you,
You and me,
Love is knowing,
We can be.
Love is free, free is love,
Love is living, living love,
Love is needing to be loved.

after a brief, six song hiatus i'm back solidly on my beatles/lennon kick

the white sessions
i've pretty much only been listening to the beatles for about a week straight now
-
they release the Trip-Hop Sessions!

Here comes Troy Smith.

Great day to be a Cowboys fan!
indeed

Proceed with caution.
i still root for joey harrington, so it can't get much worse

I have a friend who plays for the Jets. I've followed him around since he's been in the league. The Jets picked him up from Arizona.
that's cool. and a good reason to root for a team. i warmed up to the jets briefly when they had curtis martin. and now with a former duck in Clemens, i might have to keep an eye on them secretly

d00d,
I'm a Jets fan.
sorry
i've been a cowboys fan since i got into football, but i'm also a big pats fan. oddly i got into the pats back in the bledsoe days, so i'm not just hopping on the wagon
Headed to Edgefield solo.. looking for crash space.

The Edgefield is an awesome venue. If you haven't been there before you're in for a treat. Wish I could have made the trip this time, or for the Bend show. They're too close to me to have to miss
