When I got to the hotel room, I opened the window, pulled up a chair, and stuck my head outside with the heavy curtains behind me so that I could listen to the show while my daughter slept. Not quite the same as standing in the front row with my friends, but better than no Wilco at all.
that reminds me of a story my dad used to tell about when he was a kid and the beatles were in town. his parents were anti-rock and roll and wouldn't let him got the concert, but he could hear it faintly from his bedroom, so he went to bed and listened to the concert until he fell asleep

Missed moment: Having to leave the Troutdale, OR show just minutes before Wilco took the stage because my very tired baby daughter was about to have a meltdown. I listened to the show from the hotel room. Bittersweet.
that was my first time seeing them. such a wonderful show. (not to rub it in). i didn't realize i missed out on meeting some vc-ers

does anybody really use the grammys as a barometer for what's good? like everybody else, i'm glad when bands i like get a nod, because i think they should get more appreciation, but i certainly don't look at the grammys as being a source of good judgement when it comes to quality music. every once and a while they get a few awards right in my eyes, but mostly it's a celebration of music i wouldn't even use to torture somebody.

i think i would have had a breakdown if i'd been alive for this. it tears me up enough just to think about it. when george died i bawled and had to excuse myself from my h.s. english class......
i've been listening to tons of beatles stuff the last few days and it really wipes me out to think how much more music he could have made over the last 27 years

'Hey there delilah' is a foo fighters song?? It sounds like a 17 year old trying to impress a lame girl from the mall. I don't mind listening to it, though.
no, it's by The Plain White T's

Jose Guillen just signed a contract that will pay him more than the Marlins' entire roster, barring any signings.
i may be the only one, but i think this signing has a chance of panning out for the royals

ugh. that is seriously one of the worst songs i've ever heard. ever.
but i'll leave it at that.

yeah, i like the foos, but the new album is pretty lame. also how the hell did "hey there delilah" get a nomination for song of the year??? i 'bout had a coronary when i read that

Discuss: "We're the 49ers" is a better song than "Super Bowl Shuffle"
