  1. i certainly know where alot of you are coming from..i just think sky blue sky is a work of art and its strange but when i listen i am fully engaged but once the last song is complete i have no intrest in playing it again until another sitting ... its alot less disposible than YHF in that way .... hmmm maybe the frustrating parts are suposed to give u that awfull felling..shake it off sounds like the rhythm of real life to me i just think its important that people understand a song like walken is not wilco selling out ha! hardly .. did u all forget this is the band that recorded a song calle
  2. Lil wayne as talib kwali has stated has the potential to be the best rapper ever, seriously though he dose the guy is 24 heis put out the most intresting stuff for the last two years and theyve all been mix tapes when the carter 111 comes out in febuary it will reach YHF status no doubt
  3. right on thanks , thats the title i was looking for
  4. Sky blue sky is a very expiramental album and thats why its hard for alot of people with dumb ears to get okay i didnt mean to be and ass about it but wilco taking elements of their past and creating orchastrated rock songs is brilliant i.e walken is not dad rock it is a moment of realisation and fits perfectly into the sequeincing, the entire idea behind the album is just as experimental as YHF in that they created a process to wrk under, low amps few pedals live arrangments and for those of you longing for noise the noise is in the production listen with headphones and you can here it just
  5. Is anyone aware of the original song that the hate it here riff comes from?
  6. In the pitchfork interview when SBS came out jeff said that by the time the album was released he had already finished a bunch of material but i suspect that guy has hundreds of songs in his back pocket alot has changed since he became a poet and all
  7. Im am a avid suporter of sky blue sky as my previous rambling posts show....but i wonder are these guys fucking with us? i just came across an a.m demo called Lets Hear it for Rock and it is the same song as lets not get carried away aswell there is another demo which name eludes me but it is the same basic song structures as hate it here Imposible Germany has been around since summerteeth and sky blue sky is basically far far away. as jeff says in the shake it off dvd its just an album of a band playing some songs, so maybe there not fucking with us nonetheless Ive decided to jump to the c
  8. Pitchforkmedia for the first time has decided to ask hey what do you like? its a nice change and it would be cool if evreyone here could give sbs some love normally id say it dosent matter but sbs is and album that is meant to be loved https://www.surveymonkey.com/s.aspx?sm=8wzv...S9_2fzNmw_3d_3d
  9. I would edit it and re-post but I have lost all confidence
  10. thats fair enough sorry if you could not understand the post i was wrting as i thought hmmm , I'm certainly capable of writng proper centences but you know this is a fan forum not the new york times i didnt think it would be hard to read
  11. It was a joke , because the reply said i refused to use periods as if it was a rule , it was meant to be light oh are we all lost in online translation
  12. Wilco is a pretenious band- jeff tweedy has stated this- i admire this about them - thats the point of rock and roll to pretend to be something more intresting than you appear to be "...where i dare pretend to be more than i seem" YHF is a deep album about America as it is and people fell in love with or rather fell for Jeff tweedy trying to break us the listeners hearts with his dissconnection every wilco album is deep...so much so that you can live inside the albums, the sequencing is specific each song is necssary and you will never be finished with a wilco album Wilco is not a cult band t
  13. Just wondering if anyone is or has posted it......cuz that would be awesome and all thanks
  14. they used to do this while recording summerteeth where they would have a typewriter in the back of the bus and evreyone would go in and write a sentence out of all of this they used one line for shes a jar, beside that it was an exercise though im sure jeff has his own tricks
  15. i gotta agree , dont like the post ignore it it will disapear to the second page in a day who cares? well i do who cares that you dont, well you do okay. back to the orginal post this article is from being there era and jeff talks about his beliefs as biological or something and the universe and all that. Jeff has also said the reason why he loves bob dylan so much is because when you listen your listening to a person(whether contrived or not) wilcos songs are definetly personal and we all feel that so who cares i'd guesse jeff tweedy http://www.geocities.com/nutnhunee/0197cmj.html this is

    poor places

i agree i think completly? i did actualy say i think its more personal but yea i think you put it perfectly, great thought
  17. jeff tweedy is a poet...there should definetly be discussions on his lyrics but not underrated or overrated

    poor places

its definetly the song that ties the album together...the alternative lyrics are intresting as heard in the IATTBYH documentry ...the original lyrics had the line sailors sailing off in the morning to fight the war...the whole concept of our western dissconection with the poor places seems to be part of the overall communication breakdown theme in YHF..though i do belive its more personal than social or political like war on war and IG the lyrics are transcedent but yea just such a great song..it just amazes me the heights jeff reached on this album lyricaly
  19. i completley agree with this impossible germay interpratation, its funny though how allot of jeff tweedys songs have a social landscape but at the same time they are just about him...and the things in his head the constant refrences of war on yhf always seemed to be about an internal war, war on war seems like a war on the war in his head, i especially love the line from pot kettle black i have found a real rival in myself...i think imposible germany can be interprated equally botth ways which makes its a really human song
  20. the brit pop comment was suposed to be about the fact that yanke hotel foxtrot was in allot of ways the smile of the alternative generation sorta the way brian wilson wanted to take orchastrated pop and make it distinctly american as aposed to the very british srgt peppers saying jay took the reings might be false but the lyric sheet for summerteeth make it seem like wow jay played alot of instraments, i kinda always looked at summerteeth as jeff kinda giving jay the power that he left over... and yea ur right insiting the band broke up was preti stupid, okay thank you evreyone for the replies
  21. thats fair and people who know me would agree...but who cares?
  22. oh no definetly not pissed, spelling was a result of writing evreything all at once i really do just love this record
  23. I really do hate hype ,you know those no point sentences about albums, well for us who are part of this internet culture of music it bleeds into our records and even when the hype is good its bad but still i love neon bible (okay now your confused) well my point is I still love records i like sitting down and getting to know an album and i finally know sky blue sky. I have to admit that while crtisim from critics(duh) does not phase me the quick to condem wilco fans kinda hurt my feelings(re-instate jay bennet?) Wilco is a band of substence and if any one deserves our patients its Jeff Tweedy(
