  1. Hahaha, yeah I am along with Walken. And yes, Okkervil is amazing live. I caught them at the Middle East Sept 07 and it was one of the best shows I've ever seen. I also made fun of the guitarist on the right a lot. The whole band was pretty funny to watch. The bassist looked like he was shocked to find himself onstage in front of all those people.

    We've arrived Eric! haha.

I used the same exact phrase to describe what the bass player for Conor Oberst looked like. And Denim Dan on the right was also hilarious.

  2. Conor Oberst is full of shit, imho. He's way too into himself, and played way too long.

I personally thought the rain added to the experience, the encore of I'm The Man Who Loves You was amazing. It was pouring at this point, and Nels came out with middle fingers raised to the heavens, and John mouthed "you guys are the shit!" to the crowd. This was my 8th Wilco show, and it is definitely a stand out. Amazing setlist, good crowd, good venue.

  3. Former Beatles and Stones manager Allen Klein has died

Iconic and infamous music business entrepreneur Allen Klein has died after a long battle with Alzheimer's. He was 77.

Klein -- a controversial manager whose clients included Sam Cooke, the Rolling Stones, and the Beatles -- founded Allen Klein & Co. in the late 1950s. Today, ABKCO is one of the world's leading independent music companies.

The New Jersey-born accountant's rise to fame began with Cooke, who he helped land an unprecedentedly lucrative recording deal in 1963. He then moved on to the Rolling Stones -- and, when their relationship ended, he walked away with the rights to some of the band's classic hits like "(I Can't Get No) Satisfaction" and "Jumpin' Jack Flash." He also represented the Beatles during the tumultuous months before their 1970 breakup.

Along the way, he earned a reputation as a dogged businessman with a take-no-prisoners negotiating style.

Klein is survived by his longtime girlfriend Iris Keitel, an ABKCO executive, and three adult children.

  4. To me, with the Cap shrinking next year, it's a quick fix. It works out great for Hossa, but as soon as his productivity slows down, there are a lot of question marks. Chicago is a great team again, with a young core. To devote that much money to Hossa is a gamble.

  5. Quiet day for Boston. We signed Begin (who I'm guessing will apologize to new teammate Savard about that whole 'broken back' thing a few years ago), re-signed Bitz and bought out Shaefer. Also dumped Stephane Yelle and Steve Montador.

I hope we sign Kessel, but he has to be willing to take a less-than-market offer like Krecji did. Also P.J. Axelesson's been a Bruin since I've been a fan, so I'd like to see another year or two with him on the roster.
