  1. Does anyone have any news on what's going on with Buck this year. The Merge site is no help and no website. Played some recent dates with Jay Farrar and Tift Merritt so that's pretty good. & he did stop by Daytrotter on March 22nd and played 4 songs and they were flawless, but unfortunately no interview. I rank him up with just about anyone and its too bad he's remained an underground treasure. So anyone out there who goes to see him, please relay any news. Thanks.

  4. was just going thru the posts and i said the same thing right before i saw your reply. man '95 was a good year. The No Depression Era. First time I saw the Jayhawks, Wilco opened for them at the 40 Watt in Athens GA. I think I need to build a 1995 playlist tonight. J-hawks, Wilco, SV, Buckner, Old 97s, Blue Mountain and on and on and on. Great post all.
  5. Well there's alot of Wilco left so I'll keep my fingers crossed. Man, Long Cut and/or Gun would be awesome with Nels.
  6. I've been looking around the setlists and thought I'd ask if Jeff's played any Tupelo in the "Acoustic" portion of the Evening with Wilco shows. I've seen him play Gun and Black Eye solo but no Tupelo since the A.M. days. Atlanta show was excellent. Thanks all.

  8. anyone have any news on Buckner? he was on a KCRW podcast months ago and he mentioned a soundtrack he was working on.
  9. This is one of my favorite Buckner songs, but I could've easily picked many more.......... Faithful Shooter - Richard Buckner Ask her when you're upstairs later on With her eyes bowing down and her last light gone You looked up to her window from the backyard dusk, Hired as a shot, lingered as a crush. Stake me when I'm running and I'll stay down. See, I've only had a photograph to drag around. Would you take another trip with a candle like her? Strike another promise and watch it burn. Someone drove off slow. Another left the day before. Time was saved, But not a thing w
  10. Peter Bruntnell - Normal For Bridgewater Beulah - Yoko Josh Ritter - Animal Years not all new but very very good
  11. i'm liking about 3/4 of the album & meth is certainly one of farrar's best. but once i heard the song that begins with the horn section (can't remember the title at the moment), it sounds just like beulah. anyone with me on this?

    Monkey Mess?

Does anyone out there have a good recording of Jeff singing the tune, Monkey Mess? I've got a 2001 concert where he talks about writing the song with his son's preschool/kindergarten class, but during the middle of the song he has to direct the crowd to act like monkeys, which is hilarious by the way. My 3 yr old loves this song and sings it constantly, so I wanted to pass it along to his class, but hopefully I can find one without the mid-song banter. Thanks. jgriff
  14. The Wrens took 7 seven years to release The Meadowlands in 2003....which is a near perfect album in my opinion. http://www.pitchforkmedia.com/article/reco...The_Meadowlands The Meadowlands - 2003 Secaucus - 1996
