  1. was looking through the record collectors price guide at work today and his first record goes for around 90 quid and the second not alot less which explains why dont see a whole bunch of them about

the first one features his version of Dont Think Twice Its Alright which is in my opinion the best version ive heard of the tune, aswell as 2 other songs that are written around the same melody

  2. i dont think she ever really lost the knack for songwriting, i think its mostly the dated production that let down some of her later releases and i always felt Jaco Pastorius, talented as he may be kinda ruined the tunes of hers he played on with that naff bass sound

that said i do still adore her, theres only one Joni Mitchell

  3. a brand new one and a better recorded, full version of 'the bear' which i posted the other week

note, these were both done on cassette tape and converting them to digital can be a little hit and miss, the first tune is a little crackly at the beginning but clears up before the singing starts

  4. Hmm, i definately prefer the brown album to big pink, although i do adore pink also

maybe try Northern Lights, Southern Cross. its a quite different and a slicker production, if its the rawness of the early records you dont enjoy.

The Last Waltz is just ridiculous, so tight but without sounding overworked or boring. stunning

  5. you know im ashamed to say this but ive never heard the Basement tapes, the bassist in our band always says he's gonna lend me it and forgets

    i might just buy it

just curious, whos number one then Halcyon??

  6. the greatest band of all time right??

im giving stage fright a spin at the minute and i have feeling im gonna go through them all by this evening.

everytime i listen to them i fall in love all over again, i forget how good they really are

im guessing theres gotta be a handful of fans around these parts??

The Beach Boys stellar 1971 album 'Surfs Up', it upsets me that no one seems to care about The Beach Boys post-Pet Sounds.

They made some truly awesome music around this time, Holland is great too but Carl really shines on this one

you can now get it as a double CD paired with Sunflower, another underrated record

Graham Nash - Songs For Beginners, another great 70s record stolen from my dad

great to see so many people dig the Crosby record, i adore it too

only have it on cd though which is a shame

  8. MOJOs Dylan Covered, was a pretty good one..thats where i heard Andrew Bird and John Martyns covers, both beautiful

I dont have the means to convert the tracks from CD to Mp3 though

I agree with Louie, about Baez being given a hard time...i have Joan Baez in concert part 2 and thats a good LP, although it use to belong to my Grandma and this may be half of reason im so fond of it

The Cardinals do what sounds like a great version of Isis, if only there was a good qaulity audio of it kicking about
