My first choice would have been Bluebottle Kiss who last year released one of the most criminally under-appreciated Aussie albums that I can recall; the double CD set Doubt Seeds. I highly recommend getting hold of this album if you've not heard it. I also would have been rather happy with The Panics, The Sleepy Jackson or Augie March.

Is there a better band in music today? No there's not. Midlake are hot on their heels, with The Shins around the mark as well, but Wilco are top of the heap for me.

Can you elaborate on that froggie? I was right up the front for their BDO set in Adelaide and didn't get any vibe that Jeff was unhappy with the response they were getting. They did play right after Murderdolls (I think?? Could have been one of those other similarly moronic bands) though, and Jeff said something along the lines of "we worship the devil too; just in a more subtle and nuanced way." to the Muderdolls fans who had stayed after their set ended

I was right behind the group that was getting the coffee. So it's starting to look like you have to know someone who knows someone to get in rows A-C.

Right next to our seats! From memory our seat 16 is right on the end of the right rows of seating (looking at the stage) so your 17&18 should be the first 2 seats in the central rows

I got row E seats 13-16 after lining up at the Palais at 7am. Should have done the fax thing and stayed in bed an extra few hours by the sounds of it

Great call. This song has never sounded better to me than when I heard them play it at the January 03 shows in Australia.

I have to say this whole ticket buying process through the Palais has been a bit weird. It would have been nice to know definitively what was the best way to get the best possible seats. It seems like different people have been told different things and nobody knows for sure. I was about 10th through the door this morning and could still only get row E, not even in the centre of the venue. They're still good seats mind you, but their whole setup just seems a bit up in the air.

I managed to get tix in the stalls row E seats 13-16 for the Palais. Also got standing front section for Sydney and GA for Brisbane. Bring it on! P.S. Some piece of shit is already selling tickets for the Palais on eBay. Starting bid is double face value. The show isn't even sold out yet!

This is the best news I've heard all year! I was starting to worry that we might never get to see the current lineup down here. Looks like I'm going to have to get access to a fax machine on Monday morning.
