  1. I used to drink D&D mostly, but I switched to McDonalds. Why? Because it's Newman's organic coffee, and it's a dollar for whatever size you want. Plus, in the morning on my way to work the two Dunkin Donut's I pass have about 8 people in line each whille the McDonald's is always empty, and moves faster if there is anyone.

  2. Hey all- any idea if a password is required for today's presale, or is it just a presale in that those that know, know, and those that don't, don't?

I'm trying to find out as well. I haven't received any e-mails from them about a password so we'll see! What time is the presale, 10?

  3. So, the kids have managed to infect two of our PC's with AV Security Suite. One much worse than the other. Plan A is to use Spyware Doctor to clean it up, and install Avast to keep a better eye on things.

Sound like a good plan to anyone?

    thanks,

I'd recommend Microsoft's Security Essentials. It's free and is actually a very good program, which I never thought I'd say about Microsoft. And check out this site for AV Security Suite removal: http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/virus-removal/remove-av-security-suite

  4. An incredibly short set at Farm Aid tonight. It sounded great, but it was much, much too short. I'm ready for a proper solo tour.

    Sunken Treasure

    Remember The Mountain Bed

    I'll Fight

    You're Not Alone

I'm The Man Who Loves You

I've been to Farm Aid twice, and I could definitely say the concert suffers from trying to cram too many artists into a one day/one stage event. The last one I went to had the following bands: Willie Nelson, John Mellencamp, Neil Young and Dave Matthews with Merle Haggard, Ray Price, Billy Joe Shaver, Tim Reynolds, Gregg Allman, The Allman Brothers Band, Counting Crows, Matisyahu, Guster, The Derek Trucks Band, Warren Haynes, Supersuckers, The Ditty Bops, Montgomery Gentry, Jimmy Sturr, Danielle Evin, Jesse Lenat, Pauline Reese, Paula Nelson, Titty Bingo, 40 Points. It was ridiculous.

  5. Bumping this because I still feel a bit adrift.

It is funny how quickly discussion died down. I think ultimately people were fairly divided on their opinion of whether they were happy with the finale or wished they finished it with a different direction, and just got tired of arguing over it.

  6. i like a few Bright Eyes records a LOT, but Conor's songs on MOF don't do a thing for me really (Man Named Truth has especially awful lyrics)

that whole MOF album was insanely disappointing considering the artists involved, but i dug a few of Matt's songs a lot.

It really was the Travelling Wilburys of our era. I enjoyed their concert, but overall I appreciate all of them individually more than collectively. They seem to have more passion in their individual careers.

I understand a lot of the disdain for Conor but at the same time I think some of his songs are amazingly good, Breezy would be the most recent song I could think of that's incredible.

  7. definitely better than the original version...

Finally got a chance to listen, and I agree. Black Thought's always been one of my favorite rappers, and he seems like he has a lot of pent up frustration that he's getting out. How I Got Over should be pretty good.

  8. I heard kimmel said something about Jack dying on the plane at the beginning of the last season & this whole season being him letting go, but I didn't see the show. Did he say this?

"Dear God" was a slow-burning highlight from the self-titled 2009 LP from Monsters of Folk (aka Bright Eyes' Conor Oberst, My Morning Jacket's Jim James, M. Ward, and Mike Mogis). "Dear God 2.0" is a slow-burning remake of the track by the Roots that will be included on their forthcoming LP, How I Got Over. James' lofty vocals are consistent but the beat is overhauled and a couple characteristically wary verses from Roots rapper Black Thought are added. According to a press release, Oberst, Mogis, and Ward also contributed to the revamp.

I can't listen right now, and I'm scared. Has anyone heard this?

  10. [though really i'm puzzled why they introduced so many characters these last two seasons who amount to very little, i'm still upset that they created the mysterious Dogen-who-holds-some-secret only to kill him off

Hidden in case anyone hasn't watched yet.

I felt the same about them killing Richard! Do you really think he's dead?

  11. You're definitely not wrong. I'd say just divert the focus of "getting plastered" toward more of a focus on having a good time, and hopefully they'll follow. Always have a drink in your hand and they won't buy another yet, say you just bought one or someone else just bought you one. If you could make it until they've had a couple then they'll stop realizing that you haven't! If your in the same bar all night just tell the bartender to make your shots water, they always work with you. Is there one friend you can ask to help you out? Whenever they buy you a drink just give it to them. Good luck.

  12. I wish you had believed me Jack.

That was in Locke's suicide note too. :omg

Everyone in the mainverse will die and the sidewaysverse will be the only one left and the MiB will be trapped not on the island but in the body of Anthony Cooper! Why else introduce him again in the hospital?

That's actually a really really good theory. Did you just guess that or are you basing it on any spoilers?
