  1. Thanks everyone for your help.

This is what I was most concerned about.

As far as Avast goes, is it a full security suite? I downloaded the free version, but do not want to get rid of my avg, despite the problems, unless I am protected.

Are you on a home network? If you are you have a hardware firewall which is just as good as any additional firewall. If you still want firewall protection just use windows firewall which comes with Windows. The free version of Avast is just antivirus/antimalware. What else were you looking for?

  2. I would recommend most antivirus packages over Mcafee or Norton. For the cost they simply are not effective. There are free alternatives, Microsoft security essentials, avast, avg, avira, which have just as good if not better detection rates. And if you're bent on paying nod32 or Kapersky are both better alternatives. Nevermind the fact that Mcafee & Norton seem to cause way too much system overhead for an antivirus program.

  3. It could be the web and email scanner option. Do you have those things turned on? I turned those off when I was using AVG.

I am now using Microsoft Security Essentials. I have used all most all of the free ones.

I have spent many hours troubleshooting anti-virus programs. It is not fun.

I'd recommend MSE over AVG as well. It's actually a really decent anti-virus program, and AVG has become increasingly bloated the last several releases.

  4. I wonder if the OP of these photos is assuming/asserting that Jack will be the new Richard against Locke's MIB?

Yeah. I would think that if these similarities were intentionally there then that's what the purpose of it would be, but I'm not sure how much I agree with that.

  5. Full Clip is probably the best "Best of" hip hop album. He had one of the most monotonous deliveries and it never even mattered because everything else was so on point. Sad to see one of the more positive hip hop artists go.

  6. The show is up on etree now:

  7. It doesn't bother me at all. You can change the font and the size and the color of the pages and all that.

It's more the LCD lighting that I'm afraid would bother my eyes than the font or color. I'm very interested in the Nook and Kindle, but would like the prices to drop.

Also, it's very difficult to justify paying $10-$15 for an ebook. Ebooks cost much less to produce, and there is no justification in my mind for prices to be so high other than greedy publishers. It's sad that writers get screwed either way but I don't see how they expect me to pay for a 1mb DRM file, when they want to restrict my use of it more than an equally priced hard copy. The perceived, and actual, value of an ebook is much lower and the cost should reflect that.

  8. So I got bored and this is the list of songs I've seen & the number of times, over 13 shows:

A Shot in the Arm, I'm the Man Who Loves You, and Jesus, Etc. were played the most, at 12 of the 13, the Jeff Tweedy Second City show from December of '08 was when those weren't played.

  9. see this is where it gets funny. Here is a quick time line to better understand my question,

    2004 - Plane Crashes,

2005 Oceanic 6 leave the island,

2008 Jack et al get transported back to 1977

1977 Sayid shoots Ben. Juliet detonates the bomb

    2004 alt time line happens

So I guess that this means in 2008 Jack et al never get transported back to 1977 so Sayid can't shoot Ben. But then why was the island underwater? The DI existed in the alt time line.

I had thought that whatever happened pre bomb still happened, but now that I see that they (jack et al) were never there, I am not sure what to think.

    This is very confusing.

If this alt timeline is what happened if the bomb detonated, then I'm going to guess that the bomb detonating caused the universe to unravel events further back in time, to ultimately create a timeline with no conflicts where the island ends up underwater due to a different event.

  10. Great episode last night. I think it was the best one yet that showed the parallels and contrasts between the "main timeline" and the "alt timeline." We also got confirmation that Widmore is coming to the island(!) and that the Dharma Initiative was on the island in the alt timeline (implied by the sunken houses). Miles had an important part, but he, Frank and Sun just seem like extras. What's their purpose? If I have to hear Sun say "Do you know where Jin is?" one more time I'm going to scream!

She's like the Michael of season 6.

  11. Lisa's Birthday, Bob, You and Your Crystal Meth for certain... after that not sure, i'd have to revisit it again

How can you get rid of Bob?!?!! But I'd agree on the other two. This album struck me as kind of "eh" on first listen, but I need to go back a couple of times.

  12. I doubt that's the cover. It's probably just an image from the sale sheet or something.

Yeah, at the bottom of the "cover" they're advertising for the premier of the final season. That can't be the actual one.

  13. And the setlist was pretty nice too:

    01 Faust Arp

    02 Fake Plastic Trees

    03 Weird Fishes/Arpeggi

    04 The National Anthem

    05 Nude
