  1. Fair enough. Please understand that I am not responsible for the following "art", so it makes it O-K to use:
  2. Now there's a grown-up post analysis. Sticks and stones, right?
  3. Please explain how you've reached this conclusion. Also, please advise if I'm still allowed to listen to Wilco if I don't follow their politics. Sorry to drop a deuce on all of the gleeful panegyrics in these parts... but I have another question: what are we going to be partying about? The results of a Presidential election? Is this like, in the spirit of a Super Bowl party, or American Idol fan-jam? Wooo-ooo! I thought "Rock the Vote" went out with Tabitha Soren.
  4. That is some of the worst music imaginable. My favorite music has little bearing on what I do in the voting booth.
  5. My vinyl siding is aryan white... I am, after all a Republican.
  6. Jeff's endorsement of Obama has me burning my McCain yard signs. I've been McShamed.
  7. Apple pie is sexy. More so rhubarb.
  8. I was picking a random state. I should have stated "from state X."
  9. With the Biden pick, Obama presents us with an elderly man who has had 2 aneurysms. If god forbid, Joe Biden passes away while in office, President Obama leaves us with the Speaker of the house in succession... and we do not know who this will be at that time. If Pelosi is out of office, or power, we could end up with 30-something year old former town councillor from Vermont. I'm not actually concerned about this, but I am trying to follow along with this line of thinking.
  10. Who doesn't the oil lobby have influence with? They spread their considerable pull on both sides of the aisle.
  11. PETA might have a bigger problem with her being an avid hunter.
  12. I am excited about the Palin pick. I am also proud of the fact that no matter the outcome of this election, history will be made.
  13. This rings true for able-bodied people in harm's way. It is worth noting that there were people who were physically or mentally unable to make this evacuation on their own.
  14. I know that she will be regarded as an "unknown", or surprise pick, but Palin is highly regarded among many Republicans, and is fairly popular in Alaska.
  15. I'm not saying that Bush did not fail as well, but Nagin and Blanco certainly were not shining stars during that disaster. There was a lot of (what should have been) local assistance in terms of equipment and supplies that were not mobilized.
  16. These are adults discussing politics thoughtfully. I you can't appreciate this... find another thread, bub.
  17. 9/11 is one thing, but Michael Bolton? How dare you, sir!?
  18. I'm sure you're a great person, and that we could share a beer or three before a show just fine. My terse posts on the political threads here just stem from my irritation at some of the talking points that I feel go unchallenged... usually *not discussed like adults. I'm obviously a right-leaning fan of Wilco with a different take on things, and clearly a minority among the fans who post online. I'm not actually a jerk... just regrettably allowed myself get a little too sarcastic. I disagree with Obama's stance on about 87% of the issues, but I do find him to be an inspirational guy. I feel
  19. Putting aside of course, the fact that the Nazi party was a leftist movement.
