So close Wales. What a performance with only 14 men.

Pat deserves to be a featured artist in the Causeyville general store musical museum Meridian, Mississippi.

Welll it's awesome that Nick Lowe is coming down this way anyway. Wilco fans should definitely go.
-
Wow she almost brings War to Edwin Starr levels of funkiness.

Message from mid-bar. I think it just might be. Maybe Promises? Could be but I don't know that I can think of any song of theirs that would be good to strip to. In fact if you can do a striptease to a Wilco song that would be something to see and you need to make a video of that and you also need to upload that because you are a sexy machine. Thoughts?

nice. i'll have to get that. how'd you win it? dropping some arcane beatles knowledge?

Now you tell that D-man, that one of the best
I got a really heart belly laugh last night.
D-MAN took extreme umbrage at the posts criticizing the use of his nick name. I believe he used the phrase 'rampant douchebaggery'.
Well that's a bit condescending but I'll let it slide this time. Though you'd better tell that D-man to quit getting all steamed up over nothing and count his lucky stars because not every one gets a fantastic thread like this one in their name without even posting!!! Not naming any names but certain people who have been on here for far longer have their threads stuck all the way back in the um... forum, and this young rapscallion gets one right up front in Just A Fan? Jeez kids these days don't know how good they got it

Open Mind is easily the most frustrating song in years- wonderful melody, banal lyrics. But that's just me.
I think I feel the same way about this track actually. I love the melody but neither the subject or the object of this song has enough detail to be interesting.

Now these covers are truly some of the worst (and fantastic) ever:
Which part of my brain do I have to drill into to unsee all of those

That's a bit condescending...
No not all. I was only imagining myself at 17 and how I would have felt about the music hearing it at that age. You said maybe we should try and listen with the passion of a 17-year old every now and then. Well when I was 17 I lived through music to an extent that was kinda unhealthy. I didn't have much else going on in my life at that point and every band I was into defined my personality way more than actual people and experiences. If Wilco had entered the picture then I would have simply become obsessed with them to. Add a message board like this into the mix and every opinion that slightly differed from mine would have been seen as a personal attack. So for me listening with the passion of a 17 year only conjures up bad connotations. Never meant to suggest that other teenagers would take it the way I might have.
Crow, in another thread you said something along the lines of "they have a way of putting out the album that I need when I need it" (I think) This is something that rings true with me for the most part. The shift from A ghost is born to Sky blue sky was particularly welcome in that if some of the more painful emotions (on agib) hadn't been dealt with and moved on from I would certainly have lost interest and moved on from the band. So far as it stands I say that the new album falls somewhere between great and fucking fantastic.

Song writing credits usually just mean the lyrics.

Why do people not like the camel? To jokey?
-
At that 17 I would have had a tough time hearing anything negative about something I loved on a fan message board too. I imagine it would kind of feel like a personal attack.
-
You'd better hurry with their Halloween costumes.

The A.M cover? Nothing bad about it. Of the others on that list I can agree about that Springsteen album. My stomach gets queasy looking at that. Like how did this...? Same with Pablo Honey and the Black Crows cover had the pubes poking out on the version I had so thats o.k.

3. If anyone thinks this board is nutty, they should go read the Radiohead board. They're an infallible band per their fanboys. Revolting.
Sounds like the kind of place where someone who enjoys getting a rise out of fanboys could have some fun.
I really need to check out more Radiohead it's been a long time.

Or this colour would be cool
Wilco Bike maker Todd Simeone;
Color was my main contribution, and when thinking about Wilco and their music, I could not picture anything but “dust blue” (which also happened to be a 1950's Ford truck color).

There ought to be other show menu items to request on their website in addition to songs. Jeff with or without glasses? Suit jacket or denim jacket? Band with beards or clean shaven? Banter level: light, medium or heavy? Hair wild or relatively tame? ;-)
I'm thinking this should happen on a per song basis too. I mean other pop stars do costume changes don't they? Windmills or duckwalk. Stick twirls or stand-up drumming. Nudie Suits or nude

Taking fanboys down a notch, that should be entertaining.
Oh, I'm here to entertain, impart wisdom and take a few of the fanboys down a notch.
Waiting for this.

Oh geez, you know what ruined my night? I think these are being finished in Blue Mist... not Pelham Blue. Who is the idiot that made that decision? )))): Gibson is always letting everyone down, it seems.
I e-mailed American Musical to confirm that it is indeed blue mist and not pelham blue. This is such a deal breaker for me ))):
They probably didn't want two signature guitars in the same colour. That's my guess

It got Exclaim's seal of approval! Plus a nice little interview with Jeff.
It's always top-heavy and they always end on some drifting off note, y'know [laughs]?
I liked this.
Sexiest song?

Careful it's the cuddling that get girls pregnant. Or is that snuggling I'm thinking of?
I love this one to but the line 'I am an American aquarium peeping tom' is a bit creepy.
