Great story Sarah. I'm always amused by some of the conclusions people draw about musicians, athletes, or celebrities, without having the slightest clue as to who they are. I have little interest in meeting or knowing about the personal lives of those people whose work or talent I admire. I don't judge those that do. For whatever reason, I have little interest in peeking behind the curtain.

Very cool album. I'm fairly late to the SMB party, but at least I came.

Good to know. Hopefully it won't force me to change my screen name. I like CortezTheKiller.

Well, I stand corrected. Just gave Okonokos a spin in its entirety. It is quite good. And "Dondante" is a pretty fucking amazing song.

A lot of people think I'd like MMJ. However, I have a really hard time with them. I'll check out the track you mention.

I didn't get that memo.

Should I go on the drummer's blog and complain?

I love them, but the last time I saw them live, they were not good.

Sounds like an enjoyable evening. Did he offer you an Amstel?

While far from his greatest decade, the first installment of the Archives, the Archives Performance Series releases, and Greendale push him into the discussion for me. That said, Fork in the Road is fucking terrible and Are You Passionate? is not one of his finer moments. Silver & Gold and Prairie Wind are solid folk/country/acoustic albums. I like Living With War for what it is, and Chrome Dreams II is a very good 1/2 album (No Hidden Path, Spirit Road, Dirty Old Man, Ordinary People, and The Way). I also enjoyed the Demme documentary "Heart of Gold," released in '06.

I can see your issue with ABAAC, but I couldn't disagree more on BTCD. But I think we've been down this path before.... Can't believe I forgot them.

Agreed. While it has its shining moments (Devil Don't Stay, Puttin' People, Iwo Jima, Cottonseed, Gonna Change, Lookout, Lonely Love), there's some boring stuff on there as well (Tornadoes, John Henry, Boys From 'Bama, Buford Stick).

One listen. Sounded good. I plan on giving it another spin this morning.
