  1. "now that the ACL show is going to be a big dilemma"

What dilemma? The VW bitching made me a bit tired of the boards...did I miss something?

oh, I'm just whining because they got scheduled against my morning jacket.

and u2roolz, thanks for the heads up on the directions thing. yikes. you just made my start time a half hour earlier.

  2. I'm bringing this back up. more excited than ever, now that the ACL show is going to be a big dilemma.

...now having to do it up and back on the same day from nyc. anybody else? that drive home should be fun. will have to make a post-show playlist of rockers.

    my current burning questions:

    favorite picnic food?

what's this about a line up? / and if so, what time are you lining up?

anybody want to toss a frisbee in the park?

  3. I've kind of resigned myself to not trying for this show. (umm, but I am willing to trade a pair of Hammerstein GA for a single to Warsaw!)

I'll see them two nights in row as I'm doing the northampton and hammerstein...

but I'll be taking a morning stroll over to union square to the farmer's market on saturday morning and will stop by the line. if anybody wants anything from the farmer's market, let me know!!!

  4. can someone enlighten us foreigners what this is about? :cheers

it's a women's talk show started by Barbara Walters years ago for a woman's point of view. a roundtable of women discussing the hot topics of the day, along with celebrity interviews, and lots of very stereotypical women stuff: bathing suits, diet advice, weepy stories, etc.

    the current cast is:

    Barbara Walters

Rosie O'Donnell- who I think is good on the show, but she has tremendously large skull.

Elizabeth Hasselbeck-reality tv show star, turned backup nfl qb wife, constantly pregnant, republican whipping girl

Joy Behar- unfunny comedian who waits until other people start talking so that she can talk on top of them

some guest host woman-mostly like a desperate housewife star

they don't really have many musical guests. and if they do they're the variety of a broadway cast, a vanessa williams, or james blunt.

I miss Meredith, but not Star... what can I say, I admit it, I need help.

I'm evil horn and sometimes I like to sit back and enjoy the view...

  5. anybody else there tonight?

    that was crazy good.

I saw them back at one of church shows a few months ago and thought it was a lot of fun, but rough around the edges, you could tell they were figuring things out right there on stage on the new songs. not so tonight, they were just a force of amazing energy. people were just losing their shit. so cool to be in a beautiful room for it.

and seats are just a bad idea for their shows (most any good show, I think). Win Butler was encouraging folks to leave their seats and fill the aisles. and people did!

and not the best way to see the national live for the first time, but they didn't disappoint. I'm really digging their new album.

  6. I haven't heard any.

    sorry.

    [ducks.]

but let's start some, they're playing letterman next week, why can't we be lucky enough to have them show up somewhere? or who is else is playing that they could sit in on...? I'm seeing spank rock next week, maybe nels will be there. :stunned

    but here's mine:

so I hear that on the way to playing some late night gig at the living room or piano's, jeff will be stopping by my east village patio for a bbq and a real quick acoustic performance of a few requests. menu requests, jeff?
