You should get a fist so clear and climbing that punches a hole in the sky so you can see for yourself if you don't believe me that there's so much less to this than you think...

I'll bite: Jolly Jumper

We must have been separated at birth... that's my list, too!

LOL... Hilarious. I kind of like the idea of pinning it to a closely related album, but I actually titled mine Roadcase as well. I might add it to the end of W(TA) when it comes.
-
What are you folks putting in for the album name when you import it to iTunes (or whichever music library software you're using)?
-
I dunno, I'm kind of digging the "Jeff with Hotdog" from ST on your sig.
-
What exactly is Billy Bragg up to these days? Doesn't seem like there's much info out there. EDIT: Never mind, I checked his web site and it had more info.
-
I think their live stuff gives us a good idea of his contributions to SBS. That album was supposedly recorded mostly "live" so I'd imagine it's going to be pretty accurate. I think the gray areas are where you see pat picking up a guitar to fill in on areas where there may have been some overdubbing by Nels. I think Nels has added all sorts of flavors to the band. Since the new incarnation of Wilco, I have started to love certain tracks live that I skipped on the old studio recordings.

I may have to dodge some tomatoes here, but I didn't like Kingpin until I heard it on the Ashes DVD...
-
So, do you think they will be playing the new stuff in the summer tour? I'm going to be at the Cincinnati show on June 12, and I'm hoping they're playing the new stuff by then.
-
Thanks to the tip of some fellow ViaChicagoans, I called the Aronoff center's (Cincinnati) box office and they gave me better tickets than the pre-sale. YES! I am in the third row now!
-
THANK YOU... I just called and scored third row seats. I am very excited. I guess I'll pop my loge seats on ebay or craigslist.
-
You did better than me... I clicked at 9:59 and got row B of the Loge. It's going to be my first Wilco concert, though, so I'm stoked at this point to just have tickets.
-
I bet this show will sell out quickly. I just went back to get more tickets just for shits to see if they'd be better... seems they're mostly gone already. I'm just glad I've actually got tickets.
-
I clicked order right at 10am and ended up in row B of the Loge... HUH? How is this a preorder? I guess I should have tried again like you did.

The Ashes audio tracks have SICK sound quality
J_Lefty replied to Clint09eastwood's topic in Just A Fan
Gotta say that Wishful Thinking is awesome. Def. the best version of this song that I've heard. Everything on the soundtrack has a great echoey stereo quality that really adds to the recordings and mimics the feeling of being at the concerts. A++ -
Good question... Is it possible they're doing pre-orders only advertised through their site so fans have a change to at the tickets first? It's not that difficult for a scalper to check their site and grab a bunch of tickets, though. Hmm.
-
Just click on "Shows" at the bottom of www.wilcoworld.net You'll probably want to go ahead and register for an account so you're ready for any pre-orders.
-
I'm with you. I missed the concert at OU and I have yet to see them in concert. I bought tickets to the show the last time they were at Aronoff and something came up so I couldn't go.
-
Looked at Frontgate's site and I didn't see anything about it. Does Frontgate usually ream you for pre-sale? I've never used them before. EDIT: I just registered an account and the other pre-sales are listed at $30-$35.

All the articles seem to indicate they're really going to be adding a lot more electronic texture and such in the final mixing. These songs may seem a little naked by themselves, but they may pick up that extra beef for those of you who think the songs are too basic. A lot of these are probably very WIP, too. They may have added more lyrics in the actual recording of the album.

Ah, I see what you mean. The dogs who are laughing/barking later on are the ones with the bees in/on their muzzles. I see, and thanks for clearing that up. I don't know why that never occurred to me.
-
Is a group of bees really referred to as a "muzzle?" I've not heard that outside of the Wilco realm. Then again, I'm not a beekeeper. I'd love to set up a few beehives like this guy has, though. Give the poor bees somewhere to live.

Not EST... I just checked and they still aren't up.
