  1. They just reinforced my faith in them with this release. Best album since YHF in my opinion. And I loved everything since by the way. Star Wars is just on that tier one level. I've developed Wilco fever again. I just bought the Dec 5-12th bundle roadcase. Any opinions on it?
  2. And that shag haircut. Man don't get me started. Who does he think he is? Pat Benatar? Or maybe Ellen.
  3. Noel Gallagher. What a douchebag that guy is. He can't even take a picture without looking like a douche.
  4. Having a sort of cars revival around my house. Just recently obtained the MoFi vinyl releases of The Cars, Candy-o, and Shake it Up. I've loved this band since I was a kid in the late seventies but have never really focused on their catalog as an adult. It's great listening to all the deep cuts with fresh ears. Awesome material. I'm liking the Panorama album the most. The new one is pretty damn good as well.
  5. I also saw Justin at Antones. It was a good performance but the crowd noise ruined it for me. He seemed fine. I was hoping he would get pissed off and tell the crowd to shut up but he never did.
  6. I quite liked his last album and saw him at Gruene Hall when he was touring it. Great show.
  7. Never heard of them. Must have slipped under my radar. I'll have to check them out.
  8. To me this album keeps getting better with each listen. It's subdued, restrained and intimate with an underlying intensity. I like it a lot.
  9. Yes Austin Texas. Just picked up the new album. I'm almost through my first listen. It sounds great. I love the horns. His music has a timeless quality that draws me in. it's as good as the rest of them.
  10. Going to pick the new one up tomorrow. I love all of his stuff so I'm really looking forward to this. Also I've got tickets to see him at Antones in May.
  11. He was incredible. I went through a pretty serious phase years ago. I listened for what seemed like a year straight. So much of his music reveals itself after repeated listening. I would rank him up there as one of my favorite artists. From a Basement on a Hill, Figure 8, Either Or, hell all of his albums are fantastic.
  12. Alanis Morrisette Frank Sinatra Dolly Parton Jerry Reed Didn't Bob Dylan act in a movie? Jon Bon Jovi
  13. Dennis Quaid has a blues band called The Sharks. Doesn't Jared Leto have a band? Jamie Fox Gary Busey played a great Buddy Holly and sang all of the songs on the soundtrack. Willie Nelson Kris Kristofferson
  14. I don't know how many runners there are in this crowd but this is a great album to do four or five miles to.
  15. Yeah. You'd think it would be an obvious match but not everyone sees it the way we do.
  16. Wilco 95% Spoon 95% The Beatles 90% Big Star 100% Tom Waits 85% The Black Crowes 90% Louis Armstrong 90% Neil Young 75% The Black keys 90% Elliott Smith 100% So hard to make a top ten. It changes all the time.
  17. Haha. I work in an industry with a bunch of musicians and music snobs who wouldn't be caught dead listening to "radio friendly music" and I still get made fun of for my Wilco obsession. Wilco's music is not for everyone. From the outside looking in they can be kind of bland in my circles. It takes a certain kind of taste and a desire to look beneath the surface.
  18. You guys are lame. I'd make fun of you too.
  19. What the hell does "yacht rock" mean?
  20. The Smile box The Whole Love El Camino
  21. I agree that Wilco's new album is great. Aren't we lucky that there's more than one band out there making great albums. I think El Camino is one of the best ones this year. The melodys from this album have been running through my head ever since my first listen. Albums like this remind me of why I'm constantly spending my hard earned cash is pursuit of a musical high.
  22. ? Is this a joke? Attack and Release which features the song "I got mine" is their 5th album. Sorry maybe I'm missing something.
  23. I love brothers but I always seem to lose interest in the last third of the album. I think El Camino is the distilled essence of brothers. Like a crack rock.
