  1. I wonder who is hosting in Chicago??

These guys were extremely cool to work with when WhiskeyBender taped them. We did both an extended concert with them and interviews, as well as a short solo studio thing with Will a couple years earlier. Check it all out at Whiskey bender productions

I actually considered trying to pull together a few people to host upstairs at Schubas but that probably isn't what they are looking for. The friends that I have in the city that enjoy these sort of musical stylings wouldn't go for this. I want in!

  2. Just saw that DBTs are going to be on Letterman tonight... coool.

Hoping they play "4th night of my drinking" or "birthday boy"

    Really looking forward to this.

I'm liking the album. They generally have a song or two that REALLY stand out to me. Not the case necessarily this time but liking it collectively quite a bit. I'm actually liking a Shonna song a bit too..."you got another"?

  3. Not to put you on the spot, but I'm curious as to what those 3-5 songs are. I'll give you the 3-5 songs I'd cut - You And Your Crystal Meth, The Purgatory Line, Home Field Advantage, Daddy Needs A Drink, and I'm Sorry Huston. Still love it. Patterson envisioned it as a sprawling, 70's-styled, double album. I love it. Warts and all.

I like Daddy Needs a Drink but otherwise agree. My opinion is that the album would have been a pure classic without the rest.

The new album kicks all sort of ass. I bought the album and had the first two songs released to me. The leak is 10times better quality than what I paid for. :stunned

  4. Seeing these guys open for Lucero tonight. Are they any good? What kind of music do they play?

...in preparation for the concert tonight.

oh, you'll like Glossary. They have an album called "For What I Don't Become" that is very likely in my top 20 all time. I've listened to the newest 3 or 4 times. Definitely a solid album. Joey Kneiser, lead singer, also just released a free download of his solo album which kicks all sort of ass. If you are interested in free music and what not.

  5. okay, i have a question for all you eels fans. i love shootenanny. really like that record. however, its the only one i physically own. what comes next? theres so many.

also, this isnt like "whats the best eels record, man?" nor is it what comes chronologically next. its like "well, if you dug shootenanny, you should definitely check out ____________."

I'd say the new one End Times. Otherwise, Electro-Shock Blues.

  6. When did all these guys decide they needed to morph into 70s arena rock bands? I'm sad, blue. Much of this album sounds like Thin Lizzy. :hmm

If anyone sees Sin Ropas Holy Broken floating around could you please PM?

really? i love the new glossary album. maybe not as much as the last one but definitly like it.

Yeah, I like it quite a bit. Surprised you didn't like it mChris. Nothing compares to For What I Don't Become for me but I like it quite a bit. That said, I think his recent solo album grabbed me even more so.

This is being re-released 2/8 with bonus material. They also have a new EP slated for a 3/6 release. Stereogum has more info and the song "Liv Tyler" available for download.

I do love the Roadside Graves. They also have Liv Tyler and several songs of their latest on Daytrotter. Looking forward to the new EP.
