This is a weird thought -- which might mean it would be effective. They've placed the race card, gender card, age card, all manner of negative campaigning. Has anyone ever tried to play a humorous ad campaign for an elected office (other than Robin Williams, Pat Paulson and, unintentionally, Ross Perot)? I don't mean silly party silly, but using a sophisticated Daily Show to point out indescrepencies like these in a candidates bytes
Although not put out in candidate bytes, if I ever see a better political campaign message than this I will be an extremely happy man

funniest and, quite frankly, the most (if not only) politically releant show on TV. period. another moment of brilliance.
I always think it's kind of sad that the best U.S. political show and pretty much the only decent one that I've seen has to be dressed up as a comedy to get the majority of Americans to watch it so they can get their point across. Don't get me wrong, the John Daily Show is brilliant, but compared to some of the coverage you get on the BBC, Paxman in particular, it just pales in comparison.
I also love the way the best political commentator in the U.S. was in Jay and Silent Bob Stike Back

No news on where the recording went?

There'll be hell to pay for the Super Adventure Club

I don't see what's wrong with the term apart from being Lazy journalism. Radiohead are a very unique band (as are Wilco) and Wilco are probably the closest thing to them that America has produced in the same time line, hence the American Radiohead and seeing that Radiohead are the bigger out of the two of them it's natural that it would be the American Radiohead and not the British Wilco.
If anything, the only purpose the comments serves is to intoduce Radiohead fans to Wilco

I'd much rather hear him on I'm always in Love than it's just that simple tbh

Get-Well-Cards is the standout for me but as a massive Bright Eyes fan, compared to his overall work I'd certainly say it falls short of Cassadaga, IWAIM, Digital Ash and Fevers. A load of the songs just seem really fillery

Might check it out. What type of music do you play and when will you know if you are playing more dates in Dublin? As for Temple Bar, it's not the best, just full of English louts on Stag parties, nice if you wanna pull some cheap English bird, otherwise, move to other areas of town. I'd recommend Whelans on Campden Street (? could be wrong)

Federer is a dominator, but somewhat boring at the same time. (but of course his matches with Nadal on clay have been phenomenal) He's sort of like Michael Schumacher - he's the best but he's almost a bit of a robot. Nadal, on the other hand, is all fire and passion -- a much more exciting player to watch, at least on my television.
Very harsh on Federer, the only reason that he seemed so boring in the past is that there was nobody near his level for three years. Far from being a robot, he is trying to introduce some elements of serve and volleying into his game to keep it fresh and when you see him against Nadal, he just looks a very classy player as opposed to Nadal who just belts the ball and himself around the court.
I do think that Borg as the best ever is impossible to dispute, mainly because he retired so early he didn't have a bad period

I think if I were to go it would be dependent on Mallorca (or maybe Murcia, don't know if they got promoted) having a home La Liga match against one of the big 5

You can say that again! Bad places if you
-
Can see some tactical placing coming in to this. For example, What's the Story would probably not be my top album of all time, but seeing as I doubt it will get in here easily a number 1 placing is looking likely

Tweedy Oberst and Wilco are not enough to get me to fork over 250 quid

I share your pain lads. It's quite ball breaking when your favourite band are playing what is traditionally a great festival (been there once and can confirm) and they fuck it up with a shocking line up which means there's no justification to spend the money. Very very annoyed

Run DMC

I would add Jay Farrar and Thom Yorke to the list

How so?
I wouldn't even hazard a guess as to who the greatest band in the world is, but, I'd be more than willing to guess who isn't - Oasis.
I you asked Britons and Irish who was the greatest band of the 90's Oasis would win undoubtably. They just have a lot of great songs to sing when you're plastered or watching football which happens alot more here
-
Considering that most Metal bands struggle with consistency I'd put Metallica top. Just feel that they have more to them than most Metal bands and a bigger and better back catalogue. I even liked St. Anger.
Honoury mention for Spinal Tap

Some odd choices, most definatley would not fly in the USA! Some bands aren't faring well! Also Oasis is ranked number 1 over the Beatles!
It's hard for an American to understand just how great Oasis are. It's not just the songs but the whole attitude. Also, football anthems would be hard to understand on the other side of the pond

Not quite sure how to embed but here is the link. I think it's pretty damn great and one of the best intros I've heard in a long time. Massive step up from Plans as well. Very ambitious

Before it came back into rotation i'd say too far apart was up there being the last song on the least appreciated and listened to album but I'd say something from Mermaid Avenue is definitely on top

To be honest, any shocking quality recording will do me. Brought my sister for her 18th and really wanted to get her a copy of this
