  1. My guess is SSF5, I think there will only be 5 or at least that's what I was told the original contracts were for, and that's would be the ultimate finale.

If there will only be 5, then here's to hoping they will be over the next 2 summers! Maybe a hiatus and renegotiations?

And if JT is onstage for all 3 nights, let's hope that becomes the template for future SSF's. Why not a North Adams Residency of sorts.

I received an email from SolidSound Festival in early July for a feedback survey. I suggested that I'd be willing to pay $20% more , if they sold 20% less  tickets.

  2. Here's a nice interview with Thompson post-AmericanaramA with some nice words about Wilco and being on the tour (and having Dylan cover him)!

What a great read, shines a revealing light on an evolving artist. I love the irony that as a solo artist Richard Thompson went "electric" supporting Bob Dylan.  I saw alotta smiles onstage from the rail at Clarkston..  I hadn't seen R.T. since Welles Park in 2000. That acoustic performance was amazing. Seeing R.T. previous to that dates back to my first Wilco performance : Guiness Fleadh 1998. When a bottle of water was worth an ounce of gold or as rare as billy bragg these days..

  3.  try the RTA TripPlanner website or call the helpline  at 312- 836- 7000 to confirm.

The Pace bus  #386 South Harlem runs from Midway Orange Line to 71/Harlem (Toyota Park).

From Midway to Toyota Park appx. every 30 mins  at  :15 & : 45 roughly and about a 20 min. ride.

Save some $ for the taxicab after the show, looks like the last bus out leaves Toyota Park at 7:51pm.

This is the regular PACE #386 route, not necessarily catering to Americanarama.   :guitar   Enjoy!

    Here's to hopin' somebody wins $5 !!

  4. It's a really cool thing that in early April, about 2 weeks before this thread was created, I took up Louie B's on his offer of 10% off for VC'rs at his CHIRP record swap.

I bought some fantastic records. Including:

    Bob Dylan Biograph ... 5-RECORD-DELUXE-EDITION

Bob Dylan Highway 61... early pressing , very clean

In light of the  AmericanaRosannadanna tour it's neat that my hands brought some great picks to my eyes.

Rounding out the picks: (at great prices )

    Neville Brothers   Brother's Keeper

Frank Zappa    One Size fits All

    Aretha's Gold

I'm looking forward to hearing great music in Chicago , Clarkston and Saratoga Springs.

Here's to somebody losing $5 when JT joins BD  !

Any odds on Bob Weir hittin' the stage at Shoreline ???

  5. The Bloomington IN show was a really great time. I would've never known about it without this thread. Thank you very much.

I'm hoping for another show that I'll be able to attend.

On the last leg, the Chicago shows were already sold-out by the time I looked for tickets. But that tour took Califone into some small towns that I used to live in : Bloomington IN , Albuquerque NM & San Rafael CA.

I really wanted to fly into SFO for the San Rafael show... but then again, it was nice to be able to walk from a friend's house to the Bloomington show.

  6. Upon good advice, I attended the Vic benefits shows this year for the first time.

Because of my schedule..I wasn't able to be anywhere near being amongst the First 30.

In fact, arrived just as doors opened....

was in the Front Row both nights: same chair actually.

I guess I need to thank the well-heeled for not sitting in my chair both nights.

for $150 , best place on Earth !
