  1. I missed The Drovers reunion at the Abbey last night. Even Kathleen came back! Sounds like it was a one time thing too dammit. One of the best places to be in the early 90s in Chicago was a Drovers show at the Abbey.

is Billy Benson still managing the Drovers?  wow has it been 20 years?  Always a good version of sympathy for the devil ..

  2. Yea, time to let them close the motherfucker down and let it all get sorted out in the realm of public opinion.  As soon as people stop getting checks, have problems in the airports, have less teachers, etc, this thing will finally sort itself out.

  3. I love Impossible Germany.

It seems to me to be the inverse of Steely Dan's Bodhisattva.

It has something like a slow-moving inverted 4/4 time signiture structure versus that of Steely Dan's 2/4 time Bodhisattva ,

while Bodhisattva has drumming/tempo that is a half measure ahead of guitar aka Richards/Watts..

    Can you show me Bodhisattva

  4. I hadn't noticed seat assignments, and according to the Customer Service guy at etix there are not assigned seats, at least not in the gold circle. The numbers that have been assigned are strictly a bookkeeping mechanism to keep track of how many seats have been sold--they won't determine where you sit. It's GA within the gold circle. Again, this applies to gold circle tickets--I didn't ask about the regular admission seating policy.

It would be nice to have this clarified by someone from etix or The Vic. It probably wouldn't affect me personally since I'll be lining up early, but if someone bought gold circle tickets and was dying to sit in the first row but didn't care about getting a request in, they might think they could come at showtime and be guaranteed a particular seat. We sure don't want surly, disappointed fans for such fantastic events!

thanks for the insight!  I may have lucked out from the sound of things as I may be able to opt out of the front row: better sightlines in the second row ? .....  all good.

FYI,   Art Institute opens at 10:30AM. Would be quite an accomplishment to make a request AND see some exhibits, too ! Although, that may cost you sitting in the front row.

Anybody know just how many rows have the GC covered ?

  5. Well long ago it became clear to me that reducing the number of guns in this country was dead in the water.  So you can have all your guns if you want, but I would prefer the government not regulate what women (or men) do with their own bodies, regulate what they choose to ingest, (within reason), and keep people from marrying whom they want to.
