And you know that was in Jacob's chair, don't you? The profile was pretty distinct, even in the dark, plus we've actually seen an enhanced image of that shot in some of the promo commercials.

Yes, although there is also a rumor that at least one other person got off the island but is not part of this world-famous group. (And I know who the other three are. )

I see you and I frequent the same site. Glad you made it home in time for the show!! Did you see those character-specific ads they ran yesterday? Sawyer, Locke, and Kate. Funny stuff!

"Oceanic 6" are the people... I won't say anymore for risk of treading on spoiler ground, but you can find it online pretty easily if you're curious. I'm certain this group is going to be introduced in tonight's episode though. Also, I have a theory about Jacob and the smoke monster and how/when we've seen them on the island without realizing it, and I just watched a webisode that pretty much confirms it.

That's what you get for having a life outside of Lost.

Just saw in the Red Eye:

I may be young and they may not show videos on VH1 or MTV anymore, but that's not quite before my time. So let's do this Lost thing in 12.5 hours, shall we?

I thought of VH1's Pop-Up Video. Anything to make a 4th-season show more accessible to new viewers, I guess.

I was curious about Memphis and look how that ended up! -
That's my favorite book EVER. (Technically it's two short stories, but ya know.) I've read it more times than I can count. My now reading:

Will be reading this as soon as it arrives in the mail: He's such a badass!!

That's essentially the same speech he's still giving, but these days he's much cockier about it. How he's a storyteller and there are story-truths and happening-truths (stuff straight out of his book.) And he absolutely refuses to elaborate on the happening-truths at all, I guess to prove his point, but really it just comes off as being very stuck on his own ego. Still doesn't deter from how amazing TTTC is, though.

Definitely, the art is amazing. Lost, Battlestar Galactica (the new one,) and Heroes I've felt are all shows that are consistently produced at movie-quality. Well I'm not 100% sure on Heroes, there's not really enough to judge, but for sure those first two. Incidentally, these are also the three shows that I would say all make you think beyond the superficial plot lines.

That's how I feel about most of the tv world (I watch Rock of Love, remember,) but in the case of Lost I feel that watching the show each week without reflecting on it in some capacity is an intellectual let-down. There is so much packed into the shows, from philosophy to Greek mythology to eastern religions to scientific principles, theorizing about the deeper meanings of the show is a major brain exercise. Figuring out pieces of the puzzle before they're revealed in the plot based on the ideas explored in the show is a great feeling of accomplishment, I can't just sit back and watch the show

Hour 1: recap special Hour 2: season 4 premiere That's not why Charlie "had to drown." You're missing the point of the show entirely. Charlie's death fits into the show's exploration of destiny versus free will; it was not a producers' whim type of thing. What happened to him has a role in the bigger picture and the consequences are going to be felt in the season premiere (and beyond.) And characters on the show do not die because they become stagnant or their stories are over; case in point: Libby. Libby spoiler:

No, not immediately, but the next day. Noon-ish, if I remember correctly. It depends on traffic on the site. Abc.com was releasing webisodes once a week for the last few months and in the beginning people could never get them to work. The bugs seem to be worked out now. Do you truly think that's why he "had to drown?"

Do you remember what was in the GQ? I've heard him speak twice, I think he's kind of a tool, but that really doesn't belong in this thread. He's got some damn good books, even if it is only 2 or 3 of his full catalog that are the good ones.

MINOR SPOILER ALERT The only character more irritating than Jack is Michael. But lucky for you,

I think that's because the first chapter (same title as the book) was originally a short story or something. I'm convinced that book helped jump-start teaching the Vietnam War in high schools. He's also got If I Die In A Combat Zone, which I think does a nice job of filling in the gaps in TTTC because it's basically a fictionalized memoir. Beyond those, I've never finished one of his books.
